If I were a Rich Man.... Dickhead Rich People: Sandy Batchelor and Norman Braman. By Geniusofdespair

Sandy Batchelor, very rich herself as Chairman of the Batchelor Foundation, said the Sugar Land is too expensive, nixing the deal Environmentalists wanted so badly. When she was reappointed  by Rick Scott to the South Florida Water Management Board, stupid Audubon celebrated (she is on their board too).

The Miami Herald reported:

“There are really and truly constraints out there. For me, the biggest one is financial,” said board member Sandy Batchelor.

So Audubon, your Rich Board Member took a very bold move for the Environment,  a Dickhead move.

Norman Braman, of course he is a dickhead extraordinaire for his mega support of Marco Rubio, that is a given, but he is also a dickhead for meddling in the historic neighborhood of Buena Vista. He wants to build his Institute of Contemporary Art (to house works from MOCA dispute) in the  Buena Vista hood (he bought a few houses bordering the design district). The neighbors are up in arms and do not want the zoning changed.  How can he demolish historic homes anyway? His wife Irma needs the museum I suppose but the Design District was perfect. Braman has property there for his museum, why encroach on a neighborhood? Make it compact, lean and mean Norman, instead of being a Dickhead to your neighbors.

Buena Vista Historic Home
I spoke to  Buena Vista resident Basil Binns, He has no beef with Norman Braman, he said he respects the man. He just wants his historic neighborhood to remain intact. He loves where he lives with his family. Norman, talk to Basil and his neighbors. North Miami is already perplexed about the art from MOCA, now you want Buena Vista to be angry? You don't want to be a local Dickhead, isn't being a National Dickhead enough? By the way, all that money you are wasting on Rubio...find another site. Why should Jorge Perez have a better museum than you?

Buena Vista Homeowner Basil Binns with Baby Binns
Come on Norman Braman, I am pulling on your heart-strings. Do you have any? Look at this fine dad to baby Binns.

Norman Braman should build within the Design District and he should not invade the Historic Buena Vista. Braman and Craig Robins are being bad neighbors. City Commissioners just voted May 14th to pressure the PZAB and HEP Boards to cave in to Braman.

It amazes me that Braman has the gall to propose building this museum in Buena Vista. The museum is the result of some (including his wife) pulling out of MOCA. I don't know how racist that move was but I have my suspicions. So now let's just invade another neighborhood.

Some people are never happy unless they are fighting.
Any fight will do. As long as they make others unhappy, then they can be happy.

Baby Binns is so cute.

On airhead Sandy: If I was her I would have voted no, but it is political, this administration had to kill it and create their own plan. Heaven forbid they adopt Crist's plan.

This is what Eric Draper had to say about her when she was reappointed
http://audubonoffloridanews.org/?p=12233

Director Eric Draper:

“During her service Sandy has always put the Everglades first. She does her homework, is careful with tax dollars, and shows up to make the right decisions. Governor Scott made the right call.”

Good Call Eric Draper

Apparently, she has never heard of Amendment One.

My daughter and son-in-law own a Buena Vista home and love their neighborhood. A museum does not belong in the quaint historical neighborhood of Buena Vista. Not to mention the problem of parking?? What is Braman thinking??? Braman should spend some of his money to help to homeowners restore and preserve the original facade along with adding some lush landscaping.

I believe many of the residents of Buena Vista really don't have such an issue with the parcel where Braman and ICA want to put the Sculpture Garden. Their concern is that the proposed museum itself, which is not within the historic district, is too big. They are asking for 70' when the code states 50'. If the sculpture garden is done correctly and deed restrictions are implemented that prevent ICA from building anything there, this could be a nice addition to the neighborhood. In my experience with him, Craig Robins has always done a good job and I can't imagine he won't do it here,
All of the buildings he is building in the design district could be much larger and he has kept them at a scale that complements the neighborhood.
Braman's support of Rubio is a another complete story. Let him go ahead and spend his money, because Rubio will never get elected.

GenofD thank you but never! Happy to pontificate from the sidelines.

She never speaks at SFWMD board meetings. Most of the board members are mute except to recuse themselves from 18 items on the agenda. The SFWMD board belongs in prison for crimes against humanity. Last month they thought giving FPL 100 Million gallons of water per day was a great idea. As for Eric Draper he is a major douche. The man is a shill boot licker.

Water Goddess- agreed. I think I heard her speak once in a whisper.
Awaiting the petition to recall them all!

Pulling on his heartstrings after calling him a dickhead ... an interesting approach.

Craig Robins is not organizing Norman Braman's attack on Buena Vista East. Craig Robins is attacking Buena Vista West by demanding a change of zoning from residential to commercial so he can build a monster multi-level parking garage.
