Miami Dade County With Sea Level Rise. By Geniusofdespair

Awesome graphic on climate change in South Florida to accompany a great article by Katrina Schwartz. I tried to post the graphic but it slowed down the blog.

Don't you love these computer models created by the global warming cultists? The graphic is showing the sea level rise expected over the next 50,000 years. No one living on the planet today will ever even see stage two of this graphic.

Incidentally, the whole Florida peninsula has been underwater for nearly all of the earth's history, and it will be underwater again in tens of thousands of years. It is perfectly natural, and there is nothing we can do to stop it.

Anon, above. Read my blog post, "The GOP's 10 Commandments on Climate Change".

Great graphic by Peter Harlem and great work by Kartina Schwartz.

People can't look beyond their own time on earth. At the rate things are moving, our children and grandchildren's generation are going to be dealing with a shitstorm of impacts. But if you are like most of Miami (and America) you don't give a shit.

First Anon:
Thank you for pointing out the truth behind the graphic!

And you think that we humans can do something to arrest the natural process that takes pace over millennia?
Silly rabbit!

Of course, for most of earth's history, Florida had been underwater. But, then investors, home owners, condo builders, insanely out of proportion mall developers have come along. It isn't that the flood won't be inevitable - it's that "your" property is now in the direct zone.

Who cares if a tornado tears through the empty plains? It's when it hits an entire town, built in the last fifty years in the middle of a spot called "tornado alley" that makes the news.

The poor choices made by bad zoning decisions and cheap federal insurance, have put coastal and Everglades-bordering developments into the direct path of weather disasters and sea level intrusion.

Miami Beach elected officials hope to issue more building permits for high rise condominiums. Those property taxes will pay for any pumps or raising the elevations of the street. The more you build the more you will be protected by the federal government. Doral and Miami Beach are sister cities in this game and will see continued overdevelopment.

As a mainland dweller, I have virtually stopped becoming one of the traffic victims by totally avoiding going to Miami Beach. It's a shame because I liked the wall casts, the restaurants, the museums, and walks on the beach.

Dear first anon climate denier,

You're position has been deemed false by 99 percent of the world's climate scientists. With all due respect, we don't have time for this. We're reducing carbon and planning responsibly for the effects of rising temperatures and seas. That's it. Debate over. We're moving on.

To above:
1. The first Anon is not a "climate denier" (what is a climate denier? Someone who denies climate? that is so funny I can't stop laughing!). Her/his position is to challenge the hysterical bandwagon of "human-caused climate change".
2. Her/his position has NOT "been deemed false by 99% of the world's climate scientists". Where on earth do you get your statistics?
3. Again, laughing: whatever do you mean by, "debate over"? Who has stopped debating this issue? It is being debated at universities, weather observation centers, climate modeling centers around the world.

Please read more than one study before writing such foolishness.

Miami Beach is milking climate change for every penny of free press. Even offering free concerts. I would watch out for massive fraud coming from that city.
