Commissioner Xavier Suarez's Political Action Committee and a New Year Lobbyist Report. By Geniusofdespair

THIS POST IS CHOCK FULL OF INFORMATION, READ IT DAMN IT!!

Expenses Xavier Suarez - The Worst Democrat in History: Donation to Daphne Campbell. ICK
These are recent donations to Imagine Miami - Commissioner Xavier Suarez's PAC.

The donation from Odebrecht for $7,500 is the only recent troubling one I see. Of course I always hate to see Miguel DeGrandy too. December 2nd there was a change order to a contract vote for Odebrecht for $65,000,000. There was no competitive bidding. Coincidentally, at the end of December, Suarez got a $7,500 check from them.

I do not know how he voted on this contract. Will have to look and see what transpired. I looked and found the video and the minutes of the final vote:
Xavier Suarez on December 2nd talking about Odebrecht

It was moved by Commissioner Heyman that the foregoing proposed resolution be adopted as amended to add the following three WHEREAS clauses to page 7: 1) WHEREAS, American Airlines revealed its plan for substantial growth in the Fall of 2014, 2) WHEREAS, in the event Miami International Airport cannot accommodate this growth, the Airport may lose the opportunity, and 3) WHEREAS, the managing contractor will take bids to subcontract the vast majority of the work. This motion was seconded by Commissioner Edmonson, and upon being put to a vote, passed by a vote of 10-1 (Commissioner Bovo voted “No”, Commissioners Moss and Souto were absent.) This resolution was assigned Resolution No. R-1041-14.

So Xavier Suarez did vote for it, however, his vote made little difference.

142399 RESOLUTION APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NUMBER 13, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE FORM ATTACHED HERETO, TO THE FIRST AMENDED AND RESTATED CONTRACT WITH PARSONS ODEBRECHT JOINT VENTURE FOR WORK AT MIAMI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, IN THE AMOUNT OF $65,000,000.00; MODIFYING TERMS AND CONDITIONS; AUTHORIZING RENOVATIONS AND REPAIRS OF CONCOURSE E AND E-SATELLITE; WAIVING COMPETITIVE BIDDING PURSUANT TO SECTION 5.03(D) OF THE CHARTER, SECTION 2-8.1 OF THE COUNTY CODE, ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER 3-39, AND SECTION 255.20, FLORIDA STATUTES, BY A TWO-THIRDS VOTE OF THE MEMBERS OF THE BOARD; FINDING SUCH WAIVER TO BE IN THE BEST INTERESTS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY; AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY MAYOR OR DESIGNEE TO EXTEND CONTRACT TIME; AND AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY MAYOR OR MAYOR’S DESIGNEE TO EXERCISE ALL PROVISIONS CONTAINED THEREIN(Aviation Department)

SOME ISSUES COMING UP, LOBBYISTS ARE REGISTERING IN DROVES:
(the ones in bold I worry about because of who is lobbying - you can look them up at sunbiz.org)

VILLAGE OF CORAL REEF LLC.
GE HEALTHCARE
PANATTONI DEVELOPMENT COMPANY
PEREZ ART MUSEUM
MASIMO CORPORATION
NU TERRA MANAGEMENT, LLC.
UNITED WATER ENVIRONMENT SERVICES, INC. (LINCOLN DIAZ-BALART IS A LOBBYIST) - They do Water, Sewer, Pipeline, and Communications and Power Line Construction
LULAV SQUARE APARTMENT LIMITED PARTNERSHIP
FS BUILDING 35, LLC.
FLORIDA DEVELOPMENT GROUP.INC.
TD GROUP HOLDINGS 1 LLC
SOUTH DIXIE AND 122 LLC
MIAMI WILDS LLC

I could not find the Village of Coral Reef LLC on Sunbiz. The person recording the Lobbyist Page should get the correct Sunbiz name. Apparently it is Villages AT Coral Reef and it is Scott Silver, 18001 Old Cutler Rd Palmetto Bay. There is a Coral Reef Village. The same? They should give more information. Why the flurry of lobbyists now? What is up here? I looked at South Dixie and 122 LLC and found this:

MMP VENTURES, LLC
19436 SW 78 COURT
MIAMI, FL 33157

Title AMBR

LASI HOLDINGS LLC
9155 S DADELAND BLVD STE 1418

That donation to Campbell is pretty bad in my book. The donors are pretty typical though. I'll check his vote on the $65 million too! I think I'm going to hope Regalado runs against Gimenez.

Another Crook had county hall.

Let's not call someone a crook because they take a donation from someone we don't like. I think everyone voted for that no-bid contract because they left it to the last minute, even Daniella voted for it. Most probably Bovo didn't but I'm too lazy to look it up.

65 million gift …… they run these things at the end of the meetings, the point in the day were commissioners are spent. At least one Commissioner was awake and had both hands on the wheel.

Scott Silver is Mayor Stoddard's good friend. Stoddard fronts for City of South Miami legislation which benefits Mr. Silver. Ick!

RP1-SM LLC is a fresh LLC which recently purchase a large parcel on SW 80 Street in South Miami. Mayor Stoddard rolled out the red carpet and approved a 5-lot split of the large property. Nasty business, the neighbors were outraged-they desired 4 lots, and the 5-lot split was not in character with the surrounding neighborhood. Plus there was a deed restriction not allowing development to boot, that Stoddard totally ignored. Stoddard's popularity is sinking like a rock in his pond.

Perez Art Museum? Lobbying? PAMM's Board of Directors needs to raise the $120 Mil they promised. Broke again?

Except for Daniella. Yes,the others are crooks. Even though she may vote on an issue with the crooks does not make her
dishonest.
We need more elected officials like Daniella. Just my opinion.

Paul Lambert is a shell. Who is he? There's something else going on. The rumor is that the real power players in the Miami Wilds deal are Odebrecht and Zyscovitch.

Maybe the Wild's folks need some one whose obvious job skills met their intentions --- taking the community to the cleaners...
