Task Force Needed For Courthouse Dilemma Says Commissioner Levine Cava. By Geniusofdespair

What to do about the Courthouse issue? We don't want blocks of concrete falling on our heads and $30 million has been set aside for that. As far as most Commissioners are concerned we should just do an RFP tailored for one firm (we all know that firm, lets be honest commissioners, I know which one it is). I think Commissioner Daniella Levine Cava has a better idea: We should think it through now that the $30 Million has afforded us time to do it right. This letter to Mayor Gimenez has some positive solutions that County Commissioners might consider. The Mayor, up for reelection, should certainly take note. This letter is chock full of good ideas:

I am a Democrat and my impression is that Commissioner Daniella Levine Cava is an intellectual who has surrounded herself with other young 'intellectuals' with little experience. The job requires a person who hard experience. It is time for a new commissioner...

I stopped reading the letter at "Honorable". There is nothing honorable about a mayor who steals a political campaign by paying a campaign manager to defraud elderly and mentally ill citizens. There is nothing honorable about a mayor who gives away public parks, closes libraries, attempts to fire cops or chummies up to the rich while despising the poor. The word "honorable" is not found in Gimenez's DNA.

You make the term "intellectual" sound like it's an awful thing. Maybe that word does not mean what you think it does?
Perhaps if we had more people who thought things through and brought forth suggestions instead of just nodding yes or no to developers who might help line their pockets we could have a better community.

No Democrat would be opposed to intellectuals. You are a Republican my friend.

I am also a Democrat and find this Commissioner absolutely refreshing. Her strategy is to be inclusive and analytical. She reaches out to the populace and just reading about her vast amount of civic activities is exhausting. She was a dynamo when she ran for office and she wasn't just offering lip service. I'm proud to have voted for a winner.

Levine Cava has much experience in business. She started and ran her own business for years with a fairly large staff by Miami standards, and she was a lawyer before that. She addresses problems with her intellect, is that something negative to you? Would you rather have puppets like Pepe Diaz with a room temperature I Q never able to formulate a novel approach to a problem or an original idea, just a puppet for the lobbyists?

Too many scammers trying to get taxpayer money to design and then build a new courthouse.

You mean to tell me we are operating without a comprehensive judicial plan? It is ridiculous that she has to ask for this. It means we are operating "from the hip". With no idea of what our real needs are now, what they will be in the future, or where we are headed for the future.

Daniella keep up the good work. I am so glad you are my District 8 Commissioner. Yes, we need a task force. It helps keep people honest.

Thank you Daniella for leading my people out of Egypt.

Please, your street cred is going out the door. Daniella is no better than anyone of the ones serving on the board. You just agree with her position or she with yours.

Daniela is doing the work of 6-8 commissioners. Maybe 9-10. Who needs a Barrerio or a Pepe Diaz? Waste of space?
