What Does Anthony Verdugo's Christian Family Coalition Have to Say About Gay Marriage. By Geniusofdespair

Video of Marco Rubio Speaking to the Christian Family Coalition (most sane politicians boycott this group)

The gay-hate group, Christian Family Coalition, has this to say about the lifting of the gay marriage ban in Florida (What? you thought he would not have something to say):

Statement from the Christian Family Coalition Florida
Miami, FL (January 7, 2015) – The Christian Family Coalition Florida issued the following statement on Judge Hinkle and Judge Zabel's decisions to overturn Florida's constitutional respect for Marriage as the union of one man, one woman.

Today is a shameful day in Florida history as not one, but two, corrupt judges have presided over the death of democracy in our State by overthrowing Florida's constitutional respect for Marriage as the union of one man, one woman. In 2008, over 8 million voters cast their ballots, more than all the voters who voted in last year's Florida gubernatorial elections, for and against the Florida Marriage Protection Amendment constitutionally defining and protecting Marriage in a legitimate and historic election. Of those 8 million votes cast, an overwhelming majority, 62%, voted "yes" for the Marriage amendment. However, on July 25 and August 21, 2014, Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge Sarah Zabel and U.S. District Judge Robert Lewis Hinkle, respectively, ruled Florida's constitutional respect for marriage unconstitutional and threw out the results of the election.

The Christian Family Coalition Florida is deeply disappointed by these illegal rulings, as well as refusals by the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of the United States to stay the decision while appeals pend. Although the constitutionally protected rights of Florida voters have been violated, CFC Florida will pro-actively protect pastors, churches, ministries and even Christian-run businesses protect themselves from the intrusion of homosexual so-called "marriage” advocates trying to impose themselves on believers through the force of law.

Folks like this is the reason why Bill of Rights was written to protect the minority from democracy.

Mr. Verdugo has a lot to learn about the law and the federal constitution. He must have been otherwise occupied during his Grade 10 Civics class.

We need to start praying very hard now that we don't get a bunch of Cat 5 hurricanes in the next few years.

In looking at Abraham's plea to God on the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, he got God to agree that if he could find 50 righteous men he would spare them. He negioated with God until he got it down to 10 righteous men, and he would spare destruction just because of them. The problem was Abraham could not find 10.

With the destruction caused by hurricane Andrew, a lot of people came to understand the power of God and have close walks with him. These homosexuals represent a very tiny portion of the population. So in our case, we have many righteous praying people and hope that because of their numbers and prayers, he would spare us.

Mr. Verdugo and the Christian Coalition have a right to publicise their opposition to this issue. To call Mr. Verdugo and his organization a "hate group" is far fetched. He is right in his assessment that the majority of US citizens consider marriage a union between a man and a woman. Having that opinion does not make you a gay hater.

What Verdugo has written in the past makes him a gay hater...

Such as:
That hasn't stopped Verdugo and his group from working to opposed gay rights at every turn. The group called Republican Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen "an arrogant, anti-Family, homosexualist extremist" for her support of gay rights. The group opposes even domestic partner registries, and claimed that former Mayor Carlos Alvarez "got on his knees for homosexual groups" for granting domestic partner benefits to the same-sex partners of county employees. They've even blasted AAA for offering family memberships to gay couples.

Any group that actively tries to suppress the human rights and dignity of others is considered a hate group. Anthony Verdugo's organization qualifies.

It wouldn't surprise me if at least some of the CFC officers and members are closeted homosexuals. How sad. The CFC doth protest too much, methinks.

Homosexual relationships are not marriage -
Never were, never will be.

Sounds to me like Anthony Verdugo is a drama queen. For some one who alleges to be a "straight" man, he has too many gay thoughts - or thoughts about gay issues...
There are two forms of marriage in society.
Civil marriage and Religious marriage.
Gays have fought and won the case for Civil marriage.
Gays have not pushed themselves into churches and demanded Religious marriage.
It's not the gays pushing their ideas onto the religious. It's the religious pushing their religious ideas on Marraige as if it were law.
Gays don't want to be married by the roman catholic church - nor have they asked for it nor will they as for it.
Those gay who decide to get married will do so civilly and then, if they so desire, they will go to a church or temple that WELCOMES them for a religious marriage.

The rights of every individual are covered and protected under our constitution. If homosexuals decide to form a union with one another they should receive the same coverage under the law, be it insurance coverage, etc. That union should be protected. What strikes heterosexuals wrong is for homosexuals to call their union a "marriage". That is a direct insult on the sanctity of the traditional marriage between a man and a woman intended to procreate life. Call it a union, a civil partnership or whatever you choose, but please do not insult by calling a marriage.

To whoever wrote: "What strikes heterosexuals wrong is for homosexuals to call their union a "marriage". That is a direct insult on the sanctity of the traditional marriage between a man and a woman intended to procreate life."

Sanctity defines a state of being holy, sacred, or saintly. Why must you impose religious connotations on Civil Marriage?

Homosexuals aren't imposing their Civil Marriage on Religious Institution demanding Religious Marriage.

Why must religious institutions their views and vocabulary on civil matters?

How about we just do away with the concept of civil marriage altogether? Straight or gay. No benefits for 'spouses.' No tax consequences. If you go to the hospital you designate 'your person.' The one who can make decisions for you. If you want to leave someone something when you die, create a will and put it in writing.
This way we discriminate against no one; treat everyone equally.
And if the church wants to marry people so they can have sex and kids (why else do it?) then let them have their own ceremony. (becuase of course, no Christians have sex or kids outside of marriage)
