Miami New Times Article About Raquel Regalado Must Have Mayor Carlos Gimenez Quaking in His Boots. By Geniusofdespair

Miami New Times Article About Raquel Regalado:

She says she loves working in media, that it feels like home. But then the second-term Miami-Dade County school board member adds she might soon give it all up.

"When you become mayor, you have to leave it behind," she says matter-of-factly. "I'll give up radio and TV. Both."

The 40-year-old recently announced she plans to run for either city or county mayor. Neither position has ever been held by a woman. And even though the elections are still one and two years away, respectively, she's the odds-on favorite for both. Her political profile is higher than ever. Last fall, Regalado, an Energizer Bunny single mom of an autistic 11-year-old daughter, put her reputation on the line to almost single-handedly bring down a controversial $393 million courthouse bond.

Carlos Gimenez has a sudden interest in the school board, maybe trying to steal Regalado's thunder. It was only a week ago he was saying Not my job.  He is NOW working with the Superintendent on a fix for tax appeals (the tax appeals hold up school funding) according to the Miami Herald's Typepad. Raquel is a School Board Member and has been championing this issue.

I don't know anyone that supports Gimenez anymore. Maybe it is his abrupt manner, maybe it is his lack of loyalty. Maybe it is his nasty demeanor to former friends.

By the way: What is his former aide, Inson Kim doing? She was the Director of Policy and Legislative Affairs. Now she is supervising policy and legislative affairs for the Office of the Mayor, she oversees matters related to the County's Intergovernmental Affairs, Charter Review, Agenda Office, Agenda Coordination, Property Appraiser, Commission Auditor, Commission on Ethics and Public Trust, and Inspector General. In other words, she is in the way of many Departments, overseeing Department heads. Wasn't Jack Osterholt enough of a meddler? Now we need two? It is a mystery to me on how the Mayor is coming up with so many really stupid ideas. I think Jack is a major problem for him besides all his lobbyist buds. For me it was Lynda Bell that killed my respect for the Mayor. He can never regain that respect from me even though Bell is gone. I warned him about her but he is so arrogant he wouldn't listen.

I wish she would announce already. We all know she will run against that bastard.

When Carlos Gimenez was first running for Mayor he promised to enforce the excellent County Sign Code against illegal signs, especially illegal billboards. Once elected, Gimenez promptly became a co-conspirator with the nasty out-of-town billboard companies. Gimenez helps the renagades pollute our scenery. Shame on Gimenez. He needs to go.

She will run for Mayor of Miami --- and win!

Xavier Suarez will defeat Gimenez!

As both Dr. Laurence Peter and Raymond Hull would say: Mayor Gimenez has reached his level of incompetency.

The Peter Principle?

No dynasties! (Except for Regalado, Suarez & Bush)

Who else can raise money. Gimenez said that money is the mother's milk of a campaign.

Hope when election time comes in 2016 all those individuals who have been harmed by the most corrupt and least ethical mayor to ever head Miami Dade County will spread the message and help defeat him at the polls. Any county employee will tell you the level of disarray every county department has reached. Every librarian will tell you the disaster Gimenez has caused. The Elections Department will tell you how Gimenez's campaign manager collected absentee ballots from the elderly. And the least goes on and on and on......

Notice we have no county mayor when serious troubles occur - not even a peep during the Martin Luther King Day take over of the highways and streets.

Gimenez has millions of dollars readied for the 2016 race along with Mike Hernández, the Director of Communications for Miami-Dade County, training him to reign in his strident, out of the box, rhetoric.

Anyone remember Carlos Alvarez? The bodybuilder dude who spent all his time forcing the taxpayers to pay for Jeffrey Loria's baseball stadium? Gimenez is a thug and Gimenez sure has some sleazy "friends". Jorge Luis Lopez?

I wish I could tell you about some of the people he has turned against. But I don't want to name names here. He is a turncoat to be sure. EOM knows it. Lots of others do too including close confidantes.

Carlos Giménez is the worst Mayor in Dade County history. He has single-handedly destroyed moral in all county departments. I wonder how he sleeps at night?

Carlos Gimenez dreams about giving David Beckham one of Miami's waterfront parks.

If Raquel announces, Gimenez walks. He would rather leave with a legacy of cutting taxes, than stay and defend his record of governing.

Inson Kim and other VIPs in the mayors office were shoved into departments to hide their salaries. This tactic allowed the mayor to misrepresent that he was saving money by downsizing his office. These people add NO VALUE to the departments they are in. They are a layer of bureaucracy that diminishes the effectiveness of staff. The mayor has done nothing to improve county service.
