Happy New Year! … by gimleteye

Don't watch Fox News. In 2015,  think for yourselves: corporations are not people.

I for one WILL continue to watch FOX news. You can’t really believe that MSNBC is any better at getting the facts right. And you’re right, corporation are not people, but they do have the right to express themselves thru free speech – even if that means campaign contributions, just like people do. For EOM to make such a narrow-minded recommendation to its readers is not doing them any favors –but you do have that right. The left needs to expand its view of the world to help it deal with reality. Having lofty goals is great, but at some point property rights, existing laws and common sense need to come into play too. Happy New Year!

Faux news. How can they live with themselves? $$$$$

You said it misguided reader: common sense needs to come into play. Reporting on Fox News will never pass that test.

Really? Why then do most people watch FOX News? They are way ahead of any other news source and growing. Plus, FOX has the best news people, while NBC has Sharpton.

On the rare occasion when I land on FOX, I am always amazed at the out and out lies and negative spin that they parade as truth. It is a warped world view that feeds off of ignorance, lacks basic logic, and attempts to mold its viewers into non-thinking drones. Unfortunately, many have fallen under its spell until they find a crack, and the whole strategy for mind control falls apart.

anon spouting the Fox news crap, do you have a clue on the demographics of the Fox news watcher? and why do you assume anyone disparaging Fox news must be an MSNBC viewer? you're in a bubble bro..truth is rarely found on any "TV news"

Why do "Most People" serve as a model for you? Most people are as dumb as dirt relying on sound bytes for their votes. They wouldn't recognize critical thinking if it slapped them on the face.

Most people watched Jerry Springer until the show became passé and it ran its course. The networks own the generations that passively watch television. That age is ending due to the internet.

Ratings speak and thus, they shape national opinion.
Fox has the highest ratings nationwide.

I long for regular newscasts without the editorial opinion. Fox news has "news" and it has "commentators". Some days you have to stop and think when you watch Fox who is doing which format. But I will tell you that while I get tired of Fox beating the drum on the dems vs repubs or the president, they tend to get "alert" (as the happen) broadcasts right more than the other news stations.

I do dread the election season that is coming. On top of crappy candidates everywhere, we are going to listen to all the talking heads (all stations) tell us who we like and who our neighbors don't like. Blah.

People tend to gravitate toward interests and perspectives they align with. So we have the success of Fox News. The left would want those who watch Fox News listen to the left leaning mainstream Media. Thus the inherent point of Gimleteye who is a full fledged lefty.

Ebola hysteria, whipped up by Faux News, cut the GOP way in Nov. elections. No coincidence. None at all. That's not right or left wing BS, it's pure lie.

The people who watch Fox are the same constituency of older white voters that are slowly becoming a minority. Time marches on and so will the decline in viewers to Fox news. It is unfortunate that there group of views is so misinformed.
