So sick I can hardly speak. On top of the gov and Atty gen debacle, I have a 75-yr old mother in debilitating pain that will become a criminal for the first time in her life as my family intros her to street mary J in effort to get her off the Narcotics. Nice!

It is hard to see it tonight, but the first step is to recognize that we have to do politics differently if we want change and a sustainable community. We can't expect to inspire voters with a recycled governor. We can't win with party leaders who only win primaries. We need to inspire change or nothing will be different.

In disbelief. Out gunned, out spent in an old tired, mud slinging tug of war. These campaign strategies are an old fashioned mess. Campaign finance reform is key.

Lived through 8 years of George Bush, so we can certainly make it through 8 years of this clown. The only question is how much damage will he do before he leaves.

As far as blame goes, we can start by looking at a state Democratic leadership who can't field a viable candidate. If you can't beat Rick Scott, you can't beat anyone.

As for the voters, it takes a special kind of person to think that pulling the lever for a guy who took the 5th 75 times during a deposition is qualified for anything, let alone the governorship. But hey, a lot of them are the same folks who voted for the likes of David Rivera so...what can you expect.

Politics is cyclical. But, yeah, it still hurts.

This Republican would have happily voted for any Dem but Charlie ... another terrible Dem Gov candidate. Ended up voting Libertarian.

Barrack basically got everyone fired - is there a Democratic Governor left?

I've never seen you guys more angry before... seriously. Yikes.

I'm pissed too, and feel like I just watched the chances of an economic, creative, and intellectual renewal in Florida go whirling down a very expensive toilet.

Campaign Reform a must---just think of the dollars spent by both parties---sure made the TV Stations rich with their advertisements. Ottta be a law on what TV stations can advertise & broadcast ethically---No Negative Ads about candidates lives----a big factor viewed by suckers like you & me.

Mark my word in 20 years FL will be the most environmentally conscious state, with sophisticated recycling programs, huge tax increases to fund large scale environmental projects etc. Trying to prove to the Feds and the rest of the nation that it deserves a bailout or flood remediation but looking back after 8 years of Gov Scott the population will be in no mood. This election will be thrown in the face of FL residents, at least the ones who decide to stay for decades and maybe even 100s of years. Time to get out now, enjoy the good times folks as it wont last long.

It was a very tight race and Crist lost by only 70,000 votes. The 200,000 throw away votes to the third candidate, made the difference. They were in fact votes for Scott. I wonder how much he was paid to run? This is in no way a mandate for Scott. He rules in a State where half of the voters hate him.

Only democrats run away from success.

Millions have health care, the economy has been growing out of the ditch Bush and congressional republicans drove it into, unemployment is down to under 6%, gas is under $3 a gallon.

So what's the strategy for Dems running for reelection? Agree that the country is going the wrong direction and pretend like they didn't vote for the President.

Brilliant.

Will they ever learn?

Harry Reid is the worst Majority leader ever.

He allowed the Senate to become gridlocked without ever once forcing republicants to actually fillibuster - just say they were going to was enough to stop all progress.

And lots of blame belongs to the American voters who don't understand that they voted for the guys who created the gridlock while saying that they want people to "compromise." Well you just enabled the strategy of "never agree on anything the opponent says"

Not just florida but the country has spoken!

No more Obama
No more gay talk
No more wealth distribution

Enough is enough.

Exactly. Enough is enough.

We want our pre-existing conditions back.

We don't want Social Security.

And we only want our taxes to go towards corporate welfare and defense.

The country has spoken!

Maybe this is what Democrats needed to wake up from the stupor we've been under for the last five years. Alex Sink ran a terrible campaign and Charlie Christ was a terrible choice. We have four years to find a candidate that can really inspire and lead. Let's start now.

I agree we definitely need campaign finance reform, but at this point it will have to be by Constitutional amendment and that's a very steep mtn to climb.

Results for North Miami mayoral race are backwards. Percentages are correct but Smith Joseph won.

Shocker of the night Annette Taddeo is 0-4. Try something else, maybe baking cupcakes.

The whole Democratic leadership from the DNC and the FDP need to go. We have some very good Democrars in this country who would be able to run the Democratic Party and restore the confidence of the rank and file.

The Republican sweep is really no surpise. Democrats have failed miserably at cultivating and calss of potential candidates among young men and women, and we tend to see the same old names over and over in statewide elections. During JFKs time, there was Scoop Jackson, LBJ, and a cadre of other younger, promising potential candidates.

So, the absence of quality, high visibility young folks of stature to compete is problem number one. And, Dems better get to work on this now for 2016!

Second, the "out-of-control" money available on both sides of the aisle. If Sheldon Adelson throwing millions to opposition of the "Medical Marijuana" ain't the cats ass, what is? Here is a guy plying booze all over the Vegas Strip, claiming grass is bad! And, of course, the US Supreme Court and its "corporations are people" idocy is beyond the pale!

Finally, the thing about Crist - like him as a Democratic candidate or not - was that he took the high ground: no sleazy ads of the ilk that characterize Baldar Scott.

Just wait for all those who voted for Republican candidates, when they have to begin to come to terms with all of the insanity that McConnell and the Senate will generate and the Republican majority in the House will embrace. This will be a tragic, but certainly entertaining, show!

Genius, know that what you do is so important! You are educating people who don't know all the ways that this city, state, and country works. Change is so slow sometimes that it seems like things aren't changing at all, but know that change for the better is happening and it's happening because of hard working, caring and considerate people like you. Thank you so much for teaching me and being my inspiration to work for the world.

Noticed article somewhere today that implicated the no- shows -- especially Broward and Dade -- would have made the difference in gov race, likely AG also...

Campaign and election reform is key. This is a not a failure of Dems or success of Repubs, it is all about the $$$$. Until we take the $$$$ out of politics we will get the crap politicians we have now. We need publicly financed and OPEN elections with automatic runoffs. Forget the 2 party system, forget outside $$$$ - it's the only way to get sincere, qualified candidates, level the playing field, everyone gets the same amount of debate time, air time at no expense to the candidate. I don't care if 14 people run for 1 office, the voters get to rank them, 1st choice, 2nd choice and so on, automatic runoff. We need a revolution or this will never happen. Until then we will have a government bought and paid for by corporate America.
