Lynda Bell lied to the media about her opponent.

Commissioner Lynda Bell LIED in a statement to the press claiming that Daniella supported using tax dollars to build stadiums.

Fortunately, the Miami Herald caught the lie and exposed her deception. You can read their article here: http://miamiherald.typepad.com/nakedpolitics/2014/08/miami-dade-commission-candidates-trade-jabs-over-marlins-park.html

Friends, it’s clear our opponent will stop at nothing -including outright lying- to win this election. Daniella Levine Cava Said:

“Lynda Bell is at it again. She is lying about my record and the facts simply don’t hold up. Catalyst Miami, through its policy director, testified in opposition to the Marlins stadium deal and offered recommendations on how the deal may be made better for taxpayers. Unlike my opponent, I have long been a champion of holding government accountable and ensuring taxpayer dollars are well spent.

“It’s time for Lynda Bell to come clean with the voters about her sponsoring an ordinance for her top contributor and championing legislation that benefited her own family. Residents are tired of the pay-to-play politics that only result in more pain for families and more gain for the special interests supporting her campaign.”

Daniella needs to stand up and come out and say what she supported was wrong, and face the music. Instead, she is acting like a typical politician by mincing words, lying, and twisting facts to make it not sound so bad. She knows she lobbied for that stadium, she can't be honest enough to say it. There's proof.

Someone needs to take a look at what was actually said on the public record and then explain to me how anyone can interpret opposition to the stadium from those comments.

No Lynda, there is no proof. You're fantasizing.
However your backdoor support of stadiums is evident. Watch the tape of June 17 item BF 2-E. The meeting for the dolphin Stadium giveaway, you never say a word and only cast your pro forma NO vote after the motion as past 7 to 3. Did you mentioned the $10,000 donation your campaign Ross paid for your silence?

Did you mention the $10,000 donation Ross paid to your campaign two weeks before your vote on May 29th?

The comment card clearly states "against."

Lynda Bell on The Putney and Milburg show this Sunday looked like a pre-rabid dog. Wait an hour in a back room with no one to witness and she'd bite your jugular.

Don't forget she doesn't think arsenic in South Dade soil is a big deal either, Linda Bell is out for herself.

When any commissioner blames union contracts and states that there an employees being paid to not work, getting overtime on vacation, etc. it means that the Commissioner voted approve all of this.

There's 187 different pay supplements? Okay, what has Commissioner Bell done during her first year?. Her second year?. Her third year in office to mitigate this waste? If Miami Dade is hemorrhaging money to its employees, and Lynda Bell knew about it, she is complicit for this mismanagement.

I LOVE that photo of Lynda!

Lynda Bell on Putney... can someone by her a hairbrush bless her Heart Honey Boo Boo is over her head

To the person a few up, Lynda Bell never said she thought arsenic was "no big deal." That's what was deduced by the Miami-Dade Democratic Party that put out the commercial. If you watch the commercial, Bell says that almost anywhere in the county if you go in your backyard and dig a little with a spoon, your going to find some arsenic." Then in the commercial, the person said "Some arsenic, no big deal? Lynda Bell thinks arsenic is no big deal." Deceptive commercials. At least the one on Cava's salary by Bell's PAC told the truth, the Cava campaign just did not like the way the truth was told.

Please explain "at least the one on Cava's salary by Bell's PAC told the truth."

Jim Defede actually had her apologizing on his show for her PAC's attack on this point.

and the Herald's points about Lynda's character? Please refute.

The Lies Told By Bell Wouldn't Fit A Double-Wide.

Apparently Bell doesn't understand the budget and why there are pay supplements for different groups, she must not have paid attention when she voted for the contracts. Or she already knew they would not honor the terms of the contracts and blame the employees again. Her daughter must be getting the walking & breathing sup & all the others she claims.... They Are not in my check!!!

The commercial said Daniella made $500,000. In minute letters it said over 10 years.

I saw the Putney show and it was classic Lynda Bell. Knowing this woman in Homestead, what else is new?

When she talks about Daniella moving into the district to run and knows nothing about the issues in District 8, I wish somebody would ask her:
“You have lived in Homestead for a number of years and obviously you know the issues, right? Well then tell me, why is it that you have never carried your own precinct in any of your races? Why won’t you neighbors vote for you? Why don’t they like you? Why then did the people rebuff your husband when you ran him for mayor with over $112,000 special interest money, including the support of Mayor Gimenez, as opposed to your opponent who spent approximately $34,000? How deeply is your party supporting you in your commission race?”

Everywhere that woman goes she expects the people to bow and scrape to her. She rarely if ever attends events anymore in Homestead because she is routinely ignored. We would be interested to know if she dares to walk precincts in Homestead.
And from what I have heard, the same is true throughout the district.

Missy Bell, how does it feel not to be liked in your own City you brag about?

Missy Bell cares about nobody but herself and hers. If anyone out there believes she has them in mind when she votes, think again. She always has only one thing in mind, herself. It is innate with her. She cannot help it. It is so deeply embedded. If Lynda Bell is talking with you, she is busying looking over your shoulder to see if there is anyone more important she should be talking to, and if she tells you goodbye, consider yourself lucky.

Everywhere she goes she takes over control. Ask the people in Homestead about the two churches she and her husband broke up. TWO!

Did you notice how fast she was talking on Putney? She barely finished her sentence. When she finds herself in a corner that is how she talks. Usually when that happens she is frightened and that is exactly how she behaves.

Lynda Bell does not believe anyone knows more than her and she will do anything, I mean anything to get what she wants.

Her ads are all the same saying the same thing about Daniella. There are lots of them paid for with special interest money, but the only difference in them is the pictures change. She cannot find anything wrong with Daniella and she is mad as hell.

Everything she says about Daniella is warmed over, there is never anything new because Daniella is superior to her, trustworthy, unselfish, warm, genuine, poised and sophisticated as a commissioner should be. Plus her community work stands as proof that Daniella is made substance. And it is not only Democrats who love and support Daniella. Republicans and Independents love and support her too.

I cannot believe Bell was wearing a suit on the show. But I bet Missy Bell was wearing toeless and backless shoes which is a part of her uniform.

A friend of mine involved politically called me to critique the show: “She appeared like the opposition rather than the incumbent. Did you notice she was reading from notes while Daniella used no notes? An incumbent should not have to read from notes. They should be very familiar with the issues on which they voted especially the budget.”

Further, it is evident Bell does not like unions. She despises the PBA because they have never supported her when she runs for office. Anything she can do to crush them is fair game for her. Well, I suppose anyone can dream.

I can't believe Daniella has to defend the budget, it's not her budget she hasn't been there for years giving away everything from book bags to millions in taxes to sports teams which is what dug this hole.

Even with the hole the money is there for police and others. But there is skullduggery afoot

This is a manufactured crisis for political gain.
The truth is Carlos has $100 million sitting in the employees' health care reserve fund he can leverage, millions more in mismanaged bonds, 1400 too many managers in his organization and and is paying millions too much in rents for their far flung offices ACCORDING TO COUNTY ANALYSIS.

This police thing is just his way of letting Lynda do her "we can hire twice as many people if we pay everybody half as much" song and dance. It will be gone Aug 27th no matter who wins. The public is pissed..

In reality Carlos budgets are smoke and mirrors. He is going to take the snapbacks, cut the employees health care AND STILL layoff people, JUST LIKE LAST YEAR. and where did that $40 million in savings go from that stunt? Nobody knows.

What an ugly race, I am glad to not live in that district.

Its an ugly race because we have a mean nasty wolf in sheep clothing representing us in District 8. We never had this kind of trouble in Palmetto Bay when Katie was our commissioner. Lynda Bell has neighbor against neighbor and just destroyed our way of life.
Homestead threw Lynda Bell out of office and now the Village of Palmetto
Bay needs to do the same. Support and vote for our neighbor who lives in the village Daniella Levine Cava.

Lyda,
THERE IS NO FUCKING WALKING AND BREATHING PAY. THAT"S A LIE

Where do you come up with this shit? Do you just make it up or weren't you paying attention on that contract you voted for?

You go on TV and demonize employees with with lies ten wonder why they support the other guy?

The only up side is now the public sees what we see, a self preservationist who is the poster child of pay to play not to mention part of the system which is paying millions to the Heat every year while laying off cops.

We can't afford Bell.

Catalyst Miami ran deficits so Daniella should be asked about that.

former south dade social service employee said...

I know nothing about Catalyst, however, most social service agencies get in a bind now and then. When grant contracts sit unsigned in the funders office, or unapproved because the legislative body is on vacation... smaller nonprofits get in a bind. BUT, that was the groups I worked for. I never heard a peep of negative stuff about catalyst ---and social service employees gossip.

I am so beyond sick of this particular race! I don't like either candidate! I'm going to write in Micky Mouse because I'm not poor or in need of government assistance or any kind of support not am I rich enough to fund campaigns and receive insider contracts or tax dollars for lobbying! Both of these candidates have long lost sight of the district itself and our regional interests as a whole.

Lynda will do whatever it takes to win kiss babies, kiss dogs, kiss/kick ass. I hope the people of District 8 have the sense to oust her like the people of Homestead did after her 1 term as mayor. At least in Homestead she was not so corrupt. I do believe that 2 weeks after she won her county election she sold her sole to any bidder and is now one of the most corrupt politicians we have ever seen.

Anonymous said...

I was a Bell supporter but I have already voted for Daniella. I saw how fast Lynda followed the corrupt Jose Luis Castillo she sold her soul very quickly. Lynda turned her back on the few supporters she had during her last election because she knew they would not approve of corrupt ways as she sold her vote to highest bidder.
I cannot wait for the day after the election and Lynda is ousted from office once again.
