Picture of the Day: Miguel Diaz de la Portilla. By Geniusofdespair

Miguel had lunch June 23 with his cell phone.
Republican State Senator Miguel Diaz de la Portilla enjoys his cell phone at lunch with his female companion who is also enjoying the company of her cell phone. I heard he has Ayn Rand quotes on his phone that he memorizes.

Miguel's Brother Renier Diaz de la Portillia will soon be a judge, ugh. What a disappointment that is. I think he made enough trouble on the school board.

Would you prefer he have Jean Paul Sartre quotes on his phone?

No, Mark Twain.

Ghandi.

Marx or Stalin would be better.

Why talk to your lunch companion when you have a cell phone that you can talk to? The ultimate alienation and no one even notices. How sad.

They look bored. Very bored.

They look pretty comfortable and relaxed to me. It's also lunch on a Monday. Honestly, who cares?

What did people ever do before cellphones?
Ahh yes, waiting for the beeper to chirp and run to a phone :-)

renier will NOT be a judge soon because there is a qualified woman who has real experience as a lawyer....

If Miguel was a candidate for judge, things would be different. Renier may be a wonderful man, but he's not a qualified judge.

Wonder what his wife thinks of his lunch companion? I'll vote the better candidate methinks

I met Renier today. Laughable. The bench needs better.

His wife has no clue he is having lunch with another female, with wine.......

I have met Renier before, Judge? You have got to be kidding, I bet the whole family is laughing at that one!

I think the genius may be in love

Miguel de la Portilla represents a hazardous waste site in Wynwood/Overtown that wants to expand. Think asbestos meets hipsters. Think toxic dust covers Overtown residents.

THE ENTIRE FAMILY HAS NO INTEGRITY OR SCRUPPLES OR MORALS AND HOW DARE YOU SAY "RENIER WILL SOON BE A JUDGE" - THAT SIMPLY WON'T HAPPEN - THANKFULLY THERE ARE SOME EDUCATED AND INTELLIGENT VOTERS IN MIAMI

This is the guy who sponsored the Aaron Cohen Life Protection Act this year! The Gov just signed it. It increases the penalties for drivers who leave the scene of a crash. It removes the incentive to flee the scene and otherwise leave someone to die on the side of the road, like poor Aaron, Thanks, Senator!

This is the guy who sponsored the Aaron Cohen Life Protection Act. The Gov just signed it!!! It removes all incentive to flee the scene of an accident and otherwise leave someone to die on the side of the road, because it's better to go home and sober up, then turn yourself in. That's what happened to poor Aaron. Thanks, Senator!

I don't know Renier - sorry- but I would NEVER vote for a member of that family. History of corruption, entitlement and lies. Vote for his opposition, whomever it is.

Miguel was hired by the disgusting dump site in Overtown? Typical.
