Lynda Bell took credit for Frank Nero's work on this project while he was head of the Beacon Council! By Geniusofdespair

Lie in the Beacon Council Newsletter: This gives me the trots and makes me want to barf.
I wrote about this November 21st. This part deserves repeating:

I spoke to someone with close ties to Nero and Beacon:
The woman told me, he (FRANK NERO) had proposed this for years as a necessary tool to identify development areas especially in the urban core but also for areas in south Dade. This recommendation went back as far as when Penelas created "urban task force" and this was one of his recommendations. Frank repeatedly made this recommendation to the commission over the years as he needed the county to participate. It fell on deaf ears.  When Bell attacked Beacon He again reiterated this proposal. He even wrote her a lengthy memo on this concept. She waited until Nero left and then introduced the resolution saying at the time that her attack on Nero/Beacon was NOT personal. It was reported in Miami today when Nero recommended to her that this GIS program be adopted. There are numerous memos from Nero over the years to the commission recommending this program. It is disingenuous for Bell to accept credit. He sent reams of proposals to the commission on how to revitalize urban areas even, even drafting legislation to revise enterprise zones.
 I think:
The Beacon council had become a tool of the commission and the mayor .. The new CEO is weak and will not open his mouth. The seminars are a joke, they are commission promotion events, not part of The Beacon mission.
Bell and the Mayor wanted Nero out on gambling primarily but also they wanted credit for what he was doing. The Mayor once told a source of mine, "I'm the mayor not Nero."

In his last year according to the Miami Herald:

In the last year, he presided over a year-long study called One Community One Goal, which ended with a lengthy report that seeks to map a blueprint for the county’s economic growth. And in the group’s annual report, the Beacon Council touted a year in which the group said it assisted businesses in adding 2,000 jobs in Miami-Dade, including an incentive package for Univision’s new cable network with ABC in Doral.

Typical Bell: taking credit for nothing she had done with the project all the while refusing to take responsibility for the sorry state of affairs that are directly caused by her and her puppeteer Carmlos Gimenez. They should be sharing a jail cell

Why are you always bashing this poor lady? You need to cut her break.

When her entire legislative track record is a wafer thin family plan agenda she just needs something to pad the resume come election time and who better to help you than your BFF the mayor?

Look, she fought long and hard against the mayor to block those millions dollar sports giveaways but in the end the Mayor is too strong.. Sometimes a girl just needs to swallow her pride and ask for a helping handout.

This girl is glad to see EOM dishing out the truth on that girl. She is dangerous in public office and should be defeated.

Momma June gonna have plenty of houses to clean post-election.

For her own sake, "your hometown girl" better not clean houses as poorly as she performs in public office.

Lynda Bell voted against stadium money because it was a safe out. They already had a veto proof majority so she could vote anyway she liked and she voted so she could get reelected. In other words, we can't trust if it is an honest vote.

She didn't fight the Mayor, it was theatre. She would have voted for the sports team money in a second if she wasn't having this race with Daniella Levine Cava

It is an old strategy. Ferre used to use it all the time. Promise the constituents a no vote, then behind the scenes orchestrate the yes vote. When the vote comes the measure passes, but he voted no.

OMG it was a joke!.

Of course her votes against the stadiums were pro forma, even without Danielle it's hard to be card carrying free market right wing nut then vote public funds to a successful private sports franchise just after voting pay cuts to public safety.

Personally I don't care if you support the stadium as long as you're up front about it.. You may be wrong but at least you're honest about your position and full throated in your support.

My point about Bell is she is so duplicitous.

And BTW when I spoke of her record of promoting the Family plan agenda I'm not talking about the right to life family agenda, I meant the Bell family plan agenda.. from housing to fences, it all about what's good for the ring-a-ling-ding-dong Bell family.

Everybody wanted Frank Nero to go but nobody had the guts to stand up to him.

The Beacon Council did nothing to promote the business community in South Dade. He needed to go years before Bell got to the Commission.

Good riddance!

Think of Lynda what you will. But at least be honest about it.

Since she was elected, she has never voted to give the Sports franchises public money.

When the Dolphins wanted taxpayer $ for their renovations, she said no and so did the Republican legislature.

When "pretty boy" Beckham wanted his soccer stadium, not only did she tell him hat he had to build it himself, she questioned the location - result, no stadium on the waterfront.

When the secret Heat deal was leaked, Lynda was one of the first to condemn it AND critizided the mayor for not going through the Commission first.

Then, she voted against the deal.

And finally, when the Dolphins came back and GOT THEIR WAY this week - Bell, Bovo, Zapata (I forget which was the 4th dissenting vote was) voted against the deal.

Those are the facts. and BTW, most Democrats on the Dais voted for the deal - GO BASH THEM FOR A WHILE!

Sounds like Lynda is writing her own anonymous responses in hopes...

No, my name is Rolando Castellanos and I wrote those 2 last posts.

Thank you,

Well Rolly you need to check the transcripts. Your girl is awol on the debate after taking $10 grand from Ross. you're right about one thing, she will tell district 8 she voted against the deals. Only problem is I have her on tape proclaiming what a great great great deal it was before voting no.

It's called duplicitous

She has two kinds of leadership. One, she's running from an angry mob, the other she still being chased but she pretends she's leading the parade.

Rolando Castellanos said...

If that's the case, then ALL of the Commission needs to GO.

The DEMS and a few stupid REPS gave the Dolphins a huge break at our expense.

I don't care what they say. Its what they do that counts.

I don't want my taxes raised and no public subsidies for corporations.

On those 2 counts, Lynda Bell has been consistent. For that, she has my vote and that of all my family members and friends in my neighborhood.

Ain't no way in he!! Honey Boo Boo wrote that.

Bell and Suarez sponsored a resolution calling for more transparency within the Beacon Council. Nero wanted no part of it, to rewrite history is to avoid the facts. Look it up.

Excellent Point!

Honey Boo Boo we see you.......

Look it up? He got a 3 year contract renewal just before the Lynda Fiasco go to the link and read it. You didn't look it up. You are drinking the koolade character assination the county cooked up. All of you, the post was about Lynda Bell taking credit for ideas not her own. Why not address the subject instead of going off into other roads?

All the commissioners do need to go especially the one there more than 8 years. That is the ONLY thing you are right about Rolando.

Rolando -- if that is your name -- you can vote for Lynda Bell and your neighbors can too, but you are not well and should seek help maybe from Lynda Bell your buddy. I can tell you are a Republican and the T party gal would get your vote even if Daniella was the virgin Mary herself. If it is you with all the bible quotes on your facebook page and Marco Rubio as your friend, Good luck.

Geniusofdespair said...

And to the look it up person...that is so lame, you need to provide a link. However we all admit that Bell did votes we would like on stadiums, because she is up for reelection. I would hope that once in a while people would read the actual POST. And comment on the actual POST: That was about Lynda Bell taking credit for someones hard work...someone she was instrumental in getting fired.

Frank Nero always seemed like a troll and he joins a long list of bureaucrats who get massive pay and benefit packages for accomplishing no goals. Did he actually attract any jobs to Miami-Dade County? By the way, what has Nero done since he got fired? On the elected official side, we have idiot County Commissioners who get paid $42,000 per year. 9 of them voted to divert billions to the Marlins Stadium. 10 of them voted to give tax dollars to the billionaire owner of the Heat...
