Vice Mayor of Palmetto Bay John Dubois: Miami Dade County has a Preliminary Injunctive Relief Order Granted Against Mangrove Violations At His Estate. By Geniusofdespair

Read it, self-explanatory. I left out all the lawyer type stuff and went to the Judge's order at the end of the document. This case has been going on since 2012.  It was 7 pages. Link to all 7 pages.

Link to entire document.

It takes a long time for justice to sort out. Too bad Carlos Gimenez and his predecessors allow the conditions to exist where dismissing the environment is such low hanging fruit …

Great! But does he have to pay fines too? Hope so -

"Defendant Dubois" has a nice ring to it

The other 7 pages tell you that he is guilty of cutting the mangroves at his estate and filling the property.

How does he continue to serve as a Vice Mayor when he is guilty of a crime?

He told me during the election that it wasn't true, that he had the right to cut them and now this clearly shows that he was lying.

Is there any punishment for this?

Interesting footnote I found when reading the entire ruling. This is a copy of the footnote:
This Court notes that during the testimony before the EQCB, Mr. Dubois presented an expert witness, Stephen Carney, who testified that it was his professional opinion that Mr. Dubois did commit the violations he is accused of committing.

So I guess this means Vice Mayor Dubois is a liar since he told the previous anon that he didn't do the crime. very interesting these politicians.

While many of us may feel otherwise, civil code violations are different from criminal acts.

"civil code": I knew Honey Boo Boo Bell would chime in at some point...

It was previously reported by the Miami Herald, that Mr. Dubois contacted the police stating that someone had cut mangroves on his estate.

I think it can be assumed that he filed a false police report. So, will he be charged for doing so and what are the repercussions?

from my limited knowledge, the "crime" should have been charged as a felony. Some people always luck out. a "civil" case instead.

Is this the same one who has a relationship with Lynda Bell, which then caused bell to attack the section in charge of protecting the enviroment?

Previous anon: You are correct. The U Tube tape is still on the web. Interestingly, this case doesn't speak about the case against his 90 something neighbor whose property he damaged at the same time. They are paying the piper now.
