What kind of stupid comments are you guys leaving?

I think readers are just venting.. Anyone who's had to do these grip and grins knows the drill.. I think it was Dick Renick who once got talked into running for something but quickly dropped out lamenting "you have to beg money from people you would not normally let into your house"

Now the shoe is on the other foot for these office holders whoring themselves for crumbs of attention from a guy who in any other world would have never let these groupies past the velvet rope.

and by the way, if you go to one of these things watch the media, they are almost as bad. It's a little embarrassing.

It is very embarrassing! OK he is cute. OK he is famous -- but so are lots of people. Do we give them free land? (oh I forgot - we do).

The stars have to really hate this kind of stuff, but for free prime land in a wonderful place like Miami, it is a small price to pay. For small-minded people like her, they actually think something from the stars will rub off on them, and they will be a bigger person. Or other small-minded people will think they are bigger people. She only gets to take a picture with him because she and others control our public land, nothing else.

Fifteen years ago, none of these guys could even spell the word, "soccer". Times change, but the scent of money and the nose for it sure don't.

LOL! Love the rapid-fire, "trailer-trash" comments directed at Lynda and her daughter.

The commenter must be from the inbreeding capital of Florida - Homestead.

No one can trailer-trash talk like that, except a true native.

Priceless!! I love it!

to answer your question directly, hell yes the elected officials are star struck. they wish they had that following and imagine Gimenez and his side kick Bell wondering how it must feel to be liked so much when they are hated so. it must have killed their egos. in fact, gimenez would have been inserted in beckham's rectum, if beckham stopped short- and no one even noticed Gimenez' presence

Anonymous said...

btw can anyone out there please tell Gimenez to learn the guy's name. its Beck-ham not Beck-man!

Does anyone know if that trailer park is fenced in.

Last anon, don't you remember the two arena's? I do and it still makes me sick knowing how much we're losing on the AA Arena due to creative account by the Heat who want to extend their screwing of the taxpayer for another ten years!

I think they should negotiate with the Genting group, they being Beckham and buddy's. That's what private entities do. That way the sleaze from the Mayor and the BCC won't be just dripping from these photo's.

Don't forget, very few in Miami will actually walk anywhere or take public transport because the car dealers will lose too much money. They'll need parking for a stadium which will look kind of like the Marlin's stadium on a good day.

And, finally, the way to pay for all of this is those eager fans with them buying the tickets, not us taxpayers nor our publicly owned property. That's call free enterprise, oops, not when there's a willing groups of utter moron's controlling our money.

Oh boy, I must be dreaming! We're so close to the United States......

Ah, the pink elephant that was the Miami Arena...

Opened July 13, 1988[2]
Closed July 2008
Demolished August-October 2008

Cost: $52.5 million
That is $104 million in 2014 dollars

Sold at a $28 million loss to the City of Miami.

Beckham certainly knows how to do the cheek-to-cheek thing. But, his face must be sweaty and sticky when he pulls away.

Only Miami is dumb enough to fall for the stadium trick anymore. Almost as stupid as the convention center trick.

PortMiami might need to expand someday? Pretty tough to expand with a 12-15 acre soccer stadium in the way.

To the Anon who ended with the comment, ".... So close to the US", please learn to write in English.
Plurals:
Arenas (or Arenae)
Buddies
Photos
And the plural of moron is morons
Your constant improper use of the possessive is quite annoying.

To all haters that want Miami to stay in the Stone Age,
I can't wait beautiful monuments, gorgeous casinos, world class soccer, effective modern mass transit, museums, etc. Miami is a Progressive City and that is what the silent majority wants.

Youbetcha' said...

Not hard to expand on the port with a soccer stadium... simply build and pay for the stadium with your tax dollars and raze it to the ground 5 years later.

Of course, we will get more jobs from the port expansion and us pesty county residents will forget that we will be paying off bonds on the stadium forever. RIGHT? RIGHT?

Thank you for correcting my grammar. It's (it is) appreciated. I will let my smart phone know of the mistakes as I really didn't think it necessary to proof read a comment for such things', things or is it thing's? LOL

To correct you, if I may. You should have written ".....so......" instead of "....So...."

There was no capital letter in "so".

It's (it is) interesting you had no comment on what I wrote. You must be in favor of using public land for private use.

Geniusofdespair said...

Please don't correct the spelling or the grammar of my readers. They do the best they can. A lot are responding from phones. Let them be. I wince too.

Let's not forget Homestead has a stadium that is not being used. George Gretsas city manager why not you and Mayor Porter offer the Homestead property. Lynda Bell these are the suggestions sitting your fat a.. on the dais should be doing for your district, Instead you are star struck.

The Silent Majority is against corporate welfare for millionaires, and bad deal after bad deal and against demonizing unions because of the bad deals. The silent majority couldn't give a damn about a soccer stadium. Why don't they use Marlin's stadium. They could even use it for soccer the same time as a Marlin's game is played, there is no one there to watch them.

MLS Soccer Stadium in Miami To Make David Beckham $$$, 'Posh Spice' Wife Victoria Having A 'Stressful Time' With Husband's Business Venture

The News just reported on Sunday night that his wife doesn't want to leave London. World class cities have world class libraries. Ever seen the British Library? Compare that to the soon to be gutted remains of our Main Library in downtown Miami.

Stone Age lovers that want things to stay the same:
Sit back and watch the mangrove, the swamps, enjoy the mosquitoes, ... Keep Miami natural. Totally rediculous and backward thinking.

No more "bailouts for billionaires".

And to think, I used to believe this blog was read by some of the more intelligent Miami Dade residents. Obviously wrong. The class level of Lynda Bell has apparently spread to the readers. Please be aware of a publishing house called Merriam Webster. They produce this fascinating book called a dictionary. Do not be afraid, though. If the big book with lots of words and pages intimidates you, feel free to use the online version. Unfortunately, there has yet to be such a remedy for ignorance and trashy behavior... Always a business opportunity if one looks hard enough. Miami, please, stop embarrassing us!
