Charlie Crist Savior for the Dems? By Geniusofdespair

Does he have a lot of bagage? Yes.
Can he be trusted? Sure he has been doing a lot of flipping but don't we all?
Was he a good Governor when he was a Republican? Yes. I admired him then.
Would I vote for him? Yes, especially since Dan Gelber is supporting him. Dan is so good, but he does not have enough charisma to run himself.

Rick Scott will skewer Charlie with negative ads. The TV will be full of them. Will they change any Democrat's mind? Not really. The Republicans see him as the anti-Christ. Too bad. We have had the anti-Christ for 4 years now it is their turn.

How can we trust a man who doesn't stand for anything? Flip-flopping is one thing but standing on a weathervane and basing your opinions on how the wind blows is clearly a character flaw. I met Charlie twice when he was a "staunch Republican". His speech then was full of contempt for Democrats.

Don't care.

You trolls are not going to have any impact. Just look at your candidate?
Take a good look. Anyone is better. I would vote for Carlos Lopez Cantera over him a million times over.

Carlos Lopez-canters will make a good Miami-Dade mayor!

Yes he would.

Don't consider myself a troll. Proud to be a Democrat and embarrassed to have Crist be our candidate.

Hey Genius .. I agree. If Democrats want to win, we have to get behind him. At this point electability is more important than purity. The idea of 4 more years of republicans trashing the environment, trashing growth management, and making money doing it is simply awful. So proud democrats - get over it.

As a Democrat who has been involved in many political "battles", it is incredible that we haven't mentored anyone for any elected position in our state for a very long time. There are many potential candidates who are loyal D's who could (and would) run for various offices with the proper support and all we can come up with is a re-cyled R-NP-D. I will have no choice but to vote for Charlie Christ if he is our candidate but I will have to hold my nose to do it.

I want to add that although I would vote for Dan Gelber for ANY position for which he chooses run, unfortunately he want to be the AG not the Governor.

Paul (Saul of Tarsus) was a Jew who prosecuted and killed many Jewish Christians in the early church. But he had a Damascus road conversion and became the chief apostle to the Gentiles and wrote most of the New Testament in the Bible. People see the light and change.

I am still waiting for the Pepe Diaz conversion. I figured the leaking spinal fluid would do it and the brain tumor...no such luck.

Is Crist openly gay?

Geniusofdespair said...

Don't care.

It's OK not to care if he is or isn't. What is not ok, it is unacceptable, is his duplicity. When everyone questioned if he was gay, instead if owning up to it, his answer was, "who? what? me gay? Never! Watch, I'm about to get married... To a woman!"

The man is a self-serving liar. Nothing more. He will change back to the Republican Party if anyone offers him a government post.

Crist was never a good governor. Being governor bored him. He was always away from Tallahassee raising money to be a senator.

Is it too much to ask for a REAL Democrat to run against Scott? I believe Crist is the ONLY Democrat who Scott can beat.

If it's Scott vs. Crist, I will be voting for a third party candidate.

Rick Scott is praying he will face Charlie Crist. Scott will skewer him with TV ads.

Arggghhhhhhhhh. What is in Florida's drinking water?

I will vote for ANYBODY but Scott!

Florida is the biggest joke in the country.

People don’t like Scott, but they would vote for the flip flopper of all times, Charlie Crist over him. This man changes his tune more than I change my baby’s diapers. He is not to be trusted and as a Republican I am glad the Democrats have Charlie Crist. Enjoy him Genius...he’s yours.

If Florida had any sense, the Republicans would run someone else against Scott and the Democrats would find someone trustworthy. But neither has happened.

So here we are, reheating yesterday’s stinking cabbage and believing Crist will be any better than Scott.

Which party anywhere would grab Crist as Florida’s Democrats have done? And what Republican anywhere would vote for a Republican who has never paid his dues in the Republican trenches?
Only in Florida!

Then we insult so-called “Third World Countries” by comparing them to the political ignorance that is Florida’s cross to bear. We are all a joke and all we do daily is write nonsense about them both. The fact is they are both equally bad and we have nowhere else to go.

What a hell of a place for voters to be in.

And stop comparing these two jokers to so-called “Third world countries.” It is what I hear everywhere I go. I am from a “developing nation,” so stop insulting us with this third world garbage about which nobody seems to understand and, we would never have put up with this sort of rubbish ever.

Fact is, we would never have put up with Obama either...I know you won’t print that Genius although you continue to pick on Rubio who does not even come close to Obama for incompetence and stupidity.

Fair is fair. If you are going to kick one, then you ought to at least allow others to kick the other. I know this is supposed to be a Democrat blog, but just as many Republicans read it as do Democrats. If that were not true, you would have closed up shop a long time ago.

But you refuse to even own up to what a mistake we have in the White House. So, please come clean and play fair.

You may not care about so much of Crist’s many shortcomings, but the majority of us do and it is not too late for both parties to take a hard look at what they are presenting to the voters. This is madness and all we do is give it short shrift without bothering to discuss the seriousness of it all.

So, Genius, take out any part of my response as you wish. Frankly I don’t care but don’t pretend that Crist will be any better than Scott because he just may be worse. Anyone who must hold elected office to be okay with themself can’t be anyone worth voting for and that statement fits Crist to a “T”.

Thumbs down on both Crist and Scott. I have never missed a vote in my life but now I find myself in a dilemma. For a race as important as the election of a governor, I am left up a creek without a paddle and I am angry at both parties.

There is no long line of capable people wanting to run for public office. So increasingly we have to vote for the lessor of two evils. Crist is definitely less evil than Scott. What Scott has done to this state is criminal. He must go at all costs.

This is a high stakes race for Floridians. Scott will put a lot of his fortune into the race. We can't afford to play around with anyone who is not already well known in the state and has a good chance to win against Scott's money. Nelson has a important role in the Senate where his vote is critical to the country and the world. Crist is the best path to victory. Anyone else who emerges at this late date would be considered a ringer, paid to pull votes from the real race between Scott and Crist. This is the reality we face. We must do everything within our power to get Scott out of office.

Can't bring myself to vote for either one. Put me down for the best-looking third party candidate.

Then you will be effectively supporting Scott.
