Poll on Toxic Politicians. By Geniusofdespair

Who do you think is the most important politician for the Democrats to get rid of in order (I have them in order of their position):

Mayor Luigi Boria (Doral)
Lynda Bell County Commissioner
Pepe Diaz County Commissioner
Erik Fresen State Rep.
Rick Scott Governor
Marco Rubio Senator

The big question is: Do the Democrats have anyone to run against them?

Ron Book and Kris Korge - across a crowed room.

Democratic Lobbyists like Ron Book could help the local Dem picks raise money if he really cared about the community. However, I don't think he really does care about anything but his own pocketbook. He did help to get Monestime in office.  Step up to the plate Ron and Chris Korge. We need some money for the local races.

(You may add your own least favorite politician to this list).

The Miami Dade Dems are targeting Bell. The Florida Dems are targeting Scott. Those are the two on the high priority list.

Looking forward, Rubio is certainly on the high priority list across the board.

Diaz stinks but I don't think he's on the radar screen of the party.

Book donates bi partisan because it works for him.

Korge may not be of help locally. He was last seen a Biden's Christmas party.

There's a good candidate running against Fresen. He kind of reminds me of Barreiro with his campaign expenses. Note: This is pretty typical of a lot of State Rep's who don't have real jobs. Any Rep using "consultant" or has a shadow job within a family business is pretty much living off their politics!

Daisy J. Baez is running against Fresen:

She joined the United States Army at the age of 20 as a way to support her educational goals. After basic and advanced training she was assigned to the First Cavalry division Surgeon’s Office in Fort Hood, Texas. She was a highly decorated soldier earning an Army Commendation Medal, an Army Achievement Medal, and several Department of the Army and First Cavalry Division Certificates of Achievement. She was honorably discharged in 1983 at the end of her service.

Ms. Baez went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Social work and a Master’s Degree in Counseling Education. Rick Scott. The State Supreme court depends upon him losing. 4 justices will be retiring.

Before you decide to run candidates against targeted politicians, you should attempt to remove those who arrived at their current positions by usurping the electoral process. That being the case, Mayor Carlos Gimenez and State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle as well as Commissioner Esteban Bovo should be replaced. These three individuals indirectly participated in the largest absentee ballot fraud ever detected in South Florida. All three are unfit for office and they have given our community a black eye.

Anonymous said...

This looks like my wish list of politicians who should be in jail.

I wonder how much political clout was used by Rubio to give Rivera a free pass on fraud?

Political parties in general stink to me but that's the system we have in place.

Because local/county races SHOULD be non partisan, I'm leaving those people out.

Here's my poll response:

Scott, Fresen, Rubio, and Rubio's only third because Fresen & Scott are up for re election in 2014!

Last anon, you are correct. They are the biggest problem in Miami Dade Coutny right now. Especially since Gimenez controls the elections department. All three who you mentioned are tainted and have their hands in the cookie jar so to speak. I think we should just deed Miami Dade to Cuba since these are the kind of politics going on in County Hall.

Dear Santa,

Forget my previous Christmas wish list. If you could remove from office, Rick Scott, Lynda Bell and Erik Fresen, I promise I won't ask for anything else - well, until the next election at least.

Anonymous said...

Bell is a huge problem at the County level. The bigger problem would be the democratic party getting twisted in this race. Her opposition will have a better chance working hard on a non partisan level and exploiting Bell's long, losing list of legislative blunders. The other problem is the head of the local democratic party lost this District 8 race and didn't even make the run off, even after pouring in tons of her own money. I think that's toxic in itself for any candidate trying to run against Bell who has 1 million in taxpayer funds and a huge pile of BS she's been showering on the now very gerrymandered district in her favor. Good luck to whoever runs against her because you better get your walking shoes on now. Bell is stupid but she's not lazy!

As to the list: Scott, Bell, Fresen are my top three locally. Rubio will be #1 in 2016 along with KFR & Gimenez it will be a three way tie. Can someone explain to me why KFR is a registered Democrat? She doesn't seem to actually be one and really, really helps the GOP every chance she gets.

District 8 Voter said...

Bell #1, Scott #2 and Fresen #3.

Since politics are local, Bell is number one. If I weren't in Dist. 8 being negatively impacted by her bad behavior daily, it would be Scott then Bell! Fresen just needs to go find a real job not dealing with schools!

We have the most corrupt congressman in the nation in Joe Garcia, but you fail to list him because he is a Democrat.

Garcia's chief of staff is now in prison and his communications director is on his way. It's obvious that you don't give a damn about corruption, including absentee ballot fraud. You are only interested in someone pushing your far left agenda no matter how sleazy he or she may be.

Geniusofdespair said...

Chauncey when are you going realize I am a liberal registered republicans. There are none in office. Go find another blog.

District 8 Voter said...

Chauncey, I'm not a Democrat and truly want Bell, Scott & Fresen out. As to Joe Garcia, I think his race has more to do with he has worse candidate on the GOP side running for his seat. I certainly don't want "I'm not a crook" Martinez or the School Board member who just received an award from the LBA; proudly standing next to Lynda Bell in a photo op which made me lose my coffee. Garcia's not the worst in this bunch, nor is he the most corrupt - and that in itself is sad. Once again, South Dade loses no matter what.

You are a lifelong Democrat who switched parties on Dec 21, 2009, specifically so you could vote against Marco Rubio in the Republican primary. You wrote about it several times on this blog. Please don't pretend you have any Republican values or beliefs.

Geniusofdespair said...

I am a registered republican still. Rubio was a long time ago. I consider myself moderate. I know what I wrote. Why haven't I switched back?

Chamski said...

Politics are not about VALUES. That is why we can't agree on anything. Take values out of the equation and maybe we have a chance.

Anonymous said...

Voters need to do two things in order to accomplish any of what has been discussed here:
1) Elect people who have no incentive or desire for personal gain;
2) Stop behaving in predictable partisan ways.
I don't see either of those happening ever.

Politics (from Greek: politikos, meaning "of, for, or relating to citizens") is the practice and theory of influencing other people on a civic or individual level. More narrowly, it refers to achieving and exercising positions of governance — organized control over a human community, particularly a state. A variety of methods are employed in politics, which include promoting one's own political views among people, negotiation with other political subjects, making laws, and exercising force, including warfare against adversaries.
Wikipedia definition

Doesn't appear to include abortion, gay rights, religion, etc. Maybe we are too stuck on values. Even Libertarians are anti abortion. Who cares what you do? We are all equal to do what we want.

Anonymous said...

Chamski, I'm not being condescending, but my God that's it! I have been struggling with the term, and I think it's values. Values are within, and values effect our actions, but politics can't possibly be concerned with values, only actions. One can have racist values, but can't act upon others in a racist way. On to something here.

Marc Sarnoff a former Republican who switched to Democratic party to get elected has ambitions beyond commission.

We can not lose focus. Our main target has to be on Scott. All of our collective energies, money, media operatives, voter registration drives, absentee and get-out-the vote efforts must be highly focused on him and him alone. He has held down the economic growth and development of this state long enough. Once he is out of the picture, we can focus on Rubio.

Anonymous said...

In terms of the Senate seat, we need to start looking for a woman to take on Rubio. President Clinton is going to be looking for a lot of female support in the Senate. And Florida needs strategically position itself right there in her main support group given all of our many, many needs in the state. We have to start thinking now, and get focused on our future.

Politician is equal to Sociopath
"There are seven characteristics I can think of that define a sociopath, although I’m sure the list could be extended. 1. Sociopaths completely lack a conscience or any capacity for real regret about hurting people. Although they pretend the opposite. 2. Sociopaths put their own desires and wants on a totally different level from those of other people. Their wants are incommensurate. They truly believe their ends justify their means. Although they pretend the opposite. 3. Sociopaths consider themselves superior to everyone else, because they aren’t burdened by the emotions and ethics others have – they’re above all that. They’re arrogant. Although they pretend the opposite. 4. Sociopaths never accept the slightest responsibility for anything that goes wrong, even though they’re responsible for almost everything that goes wrong. You’ll never hear a sincere apology from them. 5. Sociopaths have a lopsided notion of property rights. What’s theirs is theirs, and what’s yours is theirs too. They therefore defend currency inflation and taxation as good things. 6. Sociopaths usually pick the wrong target to attack. If they lose their wallet, they kick the dog. If 16 Saudis fly planes into buildings, they attack Afghanistan. 7. Sociopaths traffic in disturbing news, they love to pass on destructive rumors and they’ll falsify information to damage others."-http://tomwoods.com/blog/we-really-are-governed-by-sociopaths/

Chris Korge isn't a lobbyist. He's a vendor to the County. The Newslink newsstands at the airport are partly his. He's also got his fingers in a lot of County pies. Check any County bid that touches the airport and you'll find Chris and his companies there. In fact, Chris was going to speak at the stadium tax debate in Kendall and wanted to encourage people to vote for the tax because it would increase his business. He may back Hilary and he may love Bill Nelson, but Chris understands that you don't shit where you eat.

"Why haven't I switched back?"

Because you are happy with any Democrat.
Because the Dem primary ballot is usually empty.
Because you want two bites at the apple when it comes voting out the Republicans you hate the most.
Because you want to claim you are a Republican whenever someone calls you out on bias.

The posters as well as the writers of this blog must be the least politically knowledgeable in South Florida! The Mayor of Doral is Luigi Boria. Who on earth is Juan Carlos Tovar Barrios?

thanks I am writing with a 101 fever. Not on my best game.

these damn planes, i get sick every time I fly -- i must suck sick people's fingers or something.

The Democrats have to get rid of Lynda Bell. Normally, the County Commission is considered a Non-Partisan board. But things have definitely not been "normal" since Bell arrived.

With Bell's support, Gimenez has been pushing the Republican agenda to disenfranchise the middle-class, give breaks to the wealthy, and completely ignore the poor. Bell is the partisan tool cranking up Gimenez on every major social and economic issue. Get rid of her, and the partisan posturing will fade away.

Anonymous said...

It amazes me how you can focus on focus on Bell, but ignore Barbara Jordan. Oh that's right ... Jordan gets a pass because she is a Democrat.

Anonymous said...

While all of them need to go, you have to look at how much power they actually have, when they are up for election, and the district they run in. Bell actually has limited power,- her vote and whatever power the other commissioners give her. Besides she is working hard against herself. The only people who can take her out are those who vote in her district. On the other hand, Scott has vast power, and Rubio is next to him. And they run statewide. First up to bat on the election timetable is Scott. So we work on him first.

Anonymous said...

Marc Sarnoff needs to go. He is a Democrat, at least at the moment.

Anonymous said...

Hey, those posters who want Marc Sarnoff to go: he's term limited. By November 2015 he will be gone. Until then, maybe you can get Vanessa Brito to do another recall.

Anonymous said...

Too bad we don't have term limits in the county.

Anonymous said...

I agree Sarnoff has to go. Good riddance in 2015

Anonymous said...

Again with the uninformed, Oy Vey! There ARE term limits in the County now!

Geniusofdespair said...

1. Barbara Jordan is not up for reelection
2. Term limits are not retroactive we have 11 years of most of them left.

Scott, Bondi & Fresen at the State level. Bondi has had an open check book with our taxes for stupid lawsuits. The mortgage settlement funds went where? She doesn't get a pass from me. One less GOP legislator, especially one with ethical problems like Fresen who continually uses our public school tax funds for his charter schools.

Those are my top three at the State level right now.

Locally? Bell would be number one as she is just toxic. How "team Bell" isn't in jail proves as one poster touched on - KFR and Let em go Joe. CH2M? Their bids should be thrown out. Once again Bells finger prints are all over this inside deal screwing the taxpayers out of billions, not millions! She's dangerous with our dollars, County wide. It would be in the best interest of this entire County to get rid of her so all of you who don't like her, call your friends in District 8 because typing on this blog isn't going to help spread the word - GOTV for anyone other then Bell will, especially the AB ballot brokers. Heck, I'd be hiring every local one right now if I were running against her!

G.O.D. as expected plays both sides "liberal Republican" I would like to ad Joe Garcia and Alcee Hastings added to list of politicians in our State that should be ousted.

I remind everyone that all this partisan bickering is sweating the small stuff while politicos of both parties have engineered the greatest ripoff and stripped the middle class to the bone in what has amounted to the biggest transfer of wealth in known human history.
Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Joyous Kwanza, and Festivus for the Rest of us.

Bell is the first priority and must be thoroughly defeated in 2014.

In addition to her hokey swamp-water political shenanigans, Bell is enabling and facilitating the destructive right-wing political context for strongman imperialist running-dog lackey Commandante Carlos Gimenez.

Geniusofdespair said...

Great comment. Do you want to write for our blog?

Daisy J. Baez will lose against Fresen. The GOP is going to tie Obama and healthcare around her neck and as with Obama, down she will go. A moderate Republican (like a Bodin or others) would beat her any day.

I give thanks for her service to our country but no thanks as my representative.
