Lynda Bell: Part 3 - Do as I say, not as I do. By Geniusofdespair

Note the NEW wood fence at Lynda Bell's House replacing a chain link fence.
Chain Link Fence from Goggle Earth (photo taken prior to new fence)
Lynda Bell talked about the beauty and virtues of the chain link fence at a commission meeting (the video) versus the wood fence, which she said was unsightly. Maybe she chose wood against her sensibilities because she is hiding her daughter's trailer back there. Code violation?  In any event, she did not get a permit for the new fence according to the deputy City Clerk of Homestead:
"The Building Department has advised that no permit is on file for that address" --- December 3, 2013

Very ironic since there is a fence company at this address - Fence Assured - run by Lynda's daughter and son-in-law, and they didn't bother to pull a permit.

That's some BS. I had to go into the city, pay for a permit and lose half a day of work for my fence. She should have to do the same. No special treatment!!!

Did you call code enforcement on her?

Epic. My condo board president is the same way. No permits for anything in his unit yet ask questions about my permits and my licensed contractors. This must be a Miami personality trait.

I believe this is an example of misfeasance. It is the misuse of her office to avoid a process that is legally imposed on all residents. The is a RECALL charge. Exactly how much money did she save when doing the work without a permit?

Queen Lynda does not have to follow the same rules as her subjects. Homestead city officials are too afraid to site Queen Lynda on a code violation for fear of her wrath.
Its about time Queen Lynda begin her vindictiveness against all those that wronged her in the recent Homestead elections. Since her husband lost the election.

That opaque wood fence is really the perfume on that pig. Now we can;t see those hillbillies running around in their long johns with the trapdoors hanging open.

You don't need any grounds for recalling a County Commissioner in Miami-Dade County. The state law, which requires a factual statement meeting at least one of seven grounds, is overridden by the Florida Constitution's grant of authority to set the recall conditions. The County Charter does not require the statement of grounds for recall. Neither the Alvarez nor the Seijas petitions had to state grounds. Vanessa Brito screwed up when she tried to use that petition to go after the Doral Vice-Mayor and forgot to list grounds.

I thought that the largest tent you were allowed to have without a fire permit was 10 x 12. In residential areas you don't need a tent permit for "family events". Is everyday a family event for that household?

It seems that the tent has been around awhile... I wonder how the neighbors feel about the permanent event tent?

I want to know why Homestead isn't doing anything about this fence w/o a permit or the code violations? If they do nothing, they just gave every resident reason to not pay for permits and not pay for violations because you can't do for one and not the rest. I think Homestead residents should be made aware of "free fence" time throughout!

As to Bell, she just can't help herself. I wonder what grafitti will end up on that fence because that's the reason she used to allow those chain link fences throughout the county. If there's someone who "tags" in the area, please put "crook" on the wood fence which is just what she is - in my opinion.

The ethics department will find a way to blame Obamacare for her lack of pulling a permit and the circus tent is still visible and not legal either.

OMG, Bateman went to jail for actually having a job and Bell just continually uses her office for personal gain and skates - I guess because of Obamacare too!

I hope her District 8 opponent is reading this blog. It will save an enormous amount of research. A few mailers as to her mis use of office.

Oh, I forget about the 5K of our tax dollars she gave to the South Dade Garden Club, which according to Sunbiz incorporated in 2010 but according to their website has been around since the 1940's. James Pierce is a Homestead CPA listed as the registered agent, his wife (I'm assuming because of the same last name, maybe daughter or sister - don't know) Sandra is their President.

It's time to see who she's paid with our tax money, cross reference campaign contributions and those Mom & Pop grants too.

The list keeps growing. It's turned in to a notebook at this point and we're still a little less then a year away from her de throaning.

Moss must need Bell for something because he's awfully cozy with those motions/seconds/co sponsor stuff whenever I read the agenda's for the BCC. Watch out, there's a power grab coming and Redland is going to be the loser in all of it because that's the biggest piece of the pie both of them can divvy up.

Fun Fact: Mama June's been a-manipulatin' city code for ages.

Check out City of Homestead Council Meeting Minutes on their website, enter Bell's name...

City Manager Gretsas in Homestead you need to send code enforcement to issue a violation or help Mrs. Bell come into compliance with the rest of the citizens of Homestead.
If Mrs. Bell is breaking rules I wonder what the other BCC's are doing? This does not look good.

I truly hope the City of Homestead gets a lawsuit from every person who had to pay to permit their fence and/or pay a fine for said fence without permit. This would be a great class action against them, which is just typical of Homestead. And, the tent too which is not allowed under the code either has zero violation according to what I checked. Heck, everyone who had received a code violation since Bell has been commissioner should demand a refund if she's not going to pay either!

Linda,
The wolves are circling

Dade County code requires that the finished side of a wooden fence face outward. One of the sides of her face has a code violation because finished side is facing in.

I'm lovin' the trailer park chic white aluminum awnings (far right).
