Erik Fresen's Campaign Report. By Geniusofdespair

Erik Fresen has collected $113,853. Against Erik, Daisy J. Baez has collected $67,005. That is pretty good since the last candidate against Fresen, Ross Hancock,  lost by about 1,400 votes, and he hardly collected any money at all.

I like the contributions to Lucie Tondreau and Steve Bateman. What do you think of that Lynda Bell? The only thing I don't understand is he listed an expenditure to his own PAC from his CCE for $65,458.57. That makes no sense to me.  What did he spend it on?  And I looked up Floridans for Integrity in Government and could not find the contributions on their site.  He changed it to a PAC from CCE 9/27/2013.

You should file a complaint with the State Elections Commission. An ECO is defined as: "any group, other than a political party, affiliated party committee, political committee, or committee of continuous existence, whose election-related activities are limited to making expenditures for electioneering communications or accepting contributions for the purpose of making electioneering communications and whose activities would not otherwise require the group to register as a political party, political committee, or committee of continuous existence under this chapter. F.S. § 106.011. An ECO is permitted to make expenditures to influence the outcome of an election. However, it may not make contributions to other candidate's campaigns.

Yes but Hancock benefited from having Obama on the ballot. This time Daisy might benefit because of the governors race. If not she will definite
Y win in 2016. Goodbye Fressen...

Somebody get me a voter database that talks to you so I can go up or down a street on the even or odd side of the street and have it tell me where the voters reside and I am sure that Ross Hancock will loan me to whoever wins the Democratic primary. Thanks, Bicycle Bob

Paul Tudor Jones? He is a smart billionaire. From Greenwich, Connecticut. Why would he give money to that creep Erik Fressen?

Jones maybe isn't too smart.... Or maybe he is smart to create a marker with fresen for something.

Floridians for Integrity in Government's financials are here: http://doe.dos.state.fl.us/committees/ComDetail.asp?account=59934

Lots of the expenditures just launder through other entities.

To the first anon, Erik's committees were not ECOs that are prohibited from contributing to campaigns, but rather, first, a committee of continuous existence (CCE) and then a political committee (PC), both of which can/could make contributions to candidates. (The ironically-named “Floridians for Integrity in Government” committee that was mentioned is a ECO, though.) The state campaign finance laws were changed this year to eliminate CCEs as of September, in an attempt to rein in the unlimited fundraising they allowed, so Erik formed a PC managed by former state rep and campaign attorney Juan-Carlos Planas. He moved his CCE balance of $65,458.57 to the new political committee. His CCE was initially seeded by Century Tower Associates which is, of course, our friends associated with Century Bank/LBA. His new political committee’s first two contributors ($5,000 each) are developer Louis Wolfson III and the MDCC faculty union, which has always been a Fresen supporter.

As always when looking at Fresen’s political expenditures, a big category is meals. With the committee reports, you have to look at “other distributions,” not “expenditures.” For example, you will see that he recently apparently billed both committees for the same $121 meal at Morton’s, and also billed twice for a $321 meal at Iris, a really nice restaurant in New Orleans. That’s how you not only get a good meal, you also get cash out of your contributions. See http://election.dos.state.fl.us/committees/ComDetail.asp?account=61081 and
