Mark Bell's Campaign Report. By Geniusofdespair

Just looked at it and one of my best friends gave to it. Fucking idiot. Anyway he said Lynda called and asked him for it and he couldn't say no even though he knew absolutely nothing about the candidate.

This is exactly why we have bad government. People will give when they get favors and they don't give a shit if they are giving to a good or bad candidate. It is "What can they do for me."

As of Sept. 26, Mark Bell collected $62,815 and Jeff Porter $24,205. The new reports comes out October 11th.

It is interesting that you can't really buy these elections in these small municipalities. People know the candidates. Money seems to have more impact in big elections, and even in those races many question its impact. For example in the race for governor, there will be lots of money, but people have had personal negative experiences with Scott's rule as governor, and they remember. Can lots of advertising overcome 8 hours of standing in line to vote? I don't think so.

What's more crucial than the difference in what was raised is how the money was spent. Republicans love to spend money on consultants. Remember how Romney's campaign was top heavy with "advisors" and had too little for GOTV and volunteer use and retention? I'm guessing you'll see a lot of money for Jose Luis Castillo and other consultants and no so much for phone banks and walk lists.

Am I the only guy who thinks Linda Bell would look hot if she lost 75 pounds?

You are right about their inability to use the money correctly. With the consultants especially for republicans, it seems to be more of a scam, a con job to get money from the wealthy. Money that they could not get any other way, except maybe robbery. Scott will unload tons of money, as a matter of fact I am sure the scam artists are already lining up to get their share. None of them will tell him the truth. They will string him along until they bleed him dry. In the end, they will pat him on the back and say it just wasn't meant to be.

Consultants are ego builders for candidates and useless in winning elections.

What's most interesting is the very, very small amount of money from the locals except for a bunch of businesses listed at 47 N. Krome Ave. That building used to be owned by Steve Shiver's father. Jose Camarallo owns the businesses at that address and the building through another company who donated to Bell. I don't know who he is other then he uses an attorney I never heard of before either named Gonzalo Gayoso.

It looks like Lynda has been working Palmetto Bay and County contacts for contributions to this campaign.

I found it funny that Bell reimbursed his own restaurant inside the Redland Hotel for almost $1,700, which I cannot find a restaurant inspection report for on Local 10's website. I also find it funny they had to pay people not from this area to work this campaign. The only person who sticks out there is Juan Puig was a paid campaign worker and have to wonder if he's related to the family who filed bankruptcy, leaving investors high & dry during the condo bust/boom a few years ago.

Jose Castill (Green Point Group) is laughing all the way to the bank. This is just a small preview of his Dist. 8 campaign annuity to come. It's even funnier his office just a short walking distance from Lynda Bells district off in Palmetto Bay.

Bercow and Juan Mayol are to be expected as is Landmark. Garza Farms is another interesting one. I didn't think they supported the Bells. Another one is John Nuhfer (remember Brenda Nuhfer/Rivera campaign). Ferguson Jewelers is Gary Ferguson who got mixed up with a whole bunch of grant money gone wrong, expected.

Voter in Homestead, even if you don't like Porter, this report should give you enough creepiness to vote for him. If Bell wins, blame yourself for not supporting Porter. Bell will be a puppet of development and all that's wrong with that City.

Let's not trade accuracy for anonymity. The building at 47 N Krome was owned by the one and only Steve Shiver. I understand the confusion. He is Roy Stephen Shiver, Jr. and if one were to look at public records and see Roy or R.S. on title, you would assume it was the old man. Old school way to fool the public and stay one step ahead of creditors. Stee is back in business full throttle in Homestead... one needs only to look at the 3-2 vote the other night in his favor to approve a horrendous deal when better was on the table. Thank you Waldman, Fairblough and Maldonado. NOT. Elvis may be untouchable for a while but the voters will not be allowed to forget when it comes to Waldmans Mayoral run in two years and the Fairclough bid for re election.

Last anon, what deal? Waldman will be termed out in 2015. Elvis is a novice being lead by the wrong people. He can chose to do the right thing or fall down the rabbit hole of old Homestead Council people like Hodges. Do tell what happened at the commission meeting. Who were the two No votes?

Steve Shiver owes millions of dollars to a lot of people for the Maggie Valley fiasco. Plus all the damage he did to that area as a whole isn't even included. How any local politician could get involved with him shows a total lack of intelligence or knowledge any recent history of the City, which is frightening.

Note to the Homestead Council: Anything Shiver is lobbying for, say NO. Or, at least ask for the money back from the shady shotgun housing deal.

Steve Shiver is responsible for bringing Lynda Bell to the Homestead Council in the first place. It would not be surprising to me if there are shadow donors on this report for him. He's going to support Mark Bell, without question. He's somewhere behind the scenes, I'll bet money on it.

The deal to sell the bowling alley property. Waldman cannot run for Council again but she can run for Mayor next time....

Only Shelley and Burgess voted no.
Williams was a no show.

Rumor has it that Porter wnats to fire the Police Chief which has lead Elvis and Williams toward the Bell camp.

You need to examine Porter's donors. A who's who of criminals and leeches.

Who is the lessor of the worst two candidates possible? This is all so sickening. As my stomach turns is the name of this campaign.

Rolle is very popular. Why would Porter want to get rid of him? Has he said anything about it?

Anonymous said...

Bell likes Rolle, and Rolle has a three year contract.

Anonymous said...

Porter's bringing Kennedy back to replace Rolle.

Anonymous said...

Porter has a brother in law in the upper eschelon of the police department.

The Homestead donors are far and few. Mr. Patrick (Pat) I did not see your donation to the Bell Klan this time. Did Missy Bell dump you as a friend?

The Homestead voters know these people and know who will get their votes. Why take their little money and throw it down the rat hole?

Talk about throwing money away, I just heard a commercial for a candidate in Miami Beach on the FOOD CHANNEL. Talk about non- targeting money, we don't live in Miami Beach and can't vote for him. But everybody made money.
