Update on the Recall of Lynda Bell. By Geniusofdespair

My hopes are shattered...dashed...I knew it was too good to be true. Damn these people for offering us  a string of hope and then yanking it away...
Statement by Miami Economic Sustainability Alliance on
The Recall of Commissioner Lynda Bell:

Before proceeding with the recall of County Commissioner Lynda Bell, the Miami Economic Sustainability Alliance (MESA) will wait to see that the Miami-Dade Public Library and fire rescue services are not cut when the County Commission adopts the final budget on September 19, 2013. “This budget process has been a disaster, and it is hard to believe what they tell us,” said Deborah Dion, President of MESA.

“We are immensely satisfied that a majority of the County Commission, without Lynda Bell, were willing to send a second tax notice to correct the problems created by Mayor Gimenez. Rather than spend $700,000 to correct the millage, as if by magic, the Mayor pulled millions of dollars out of his hat to balance the budget without cutting any services. Our participation in the recall effort is all about protecting basic services to the community,” said Fred Frost, Vice President of MESA.

We are waiting to learn the final results of the second budget hearing before we consider re-filing the recall petition.

Why don't you recall her for voting to lift a 30 year deed restriction, or for other annoying stuff she has done like trying to throw DERM under the bus (Moss quote) or reviving the 8 1/2 square mile mess or for refurbishing a new office for over $100,000 that she didn't need.

What the hell , she has been destructive since the day she set foot in the commision , recall her or we need to vote her out but my fear is no one has filled to run in her district.

Did I miss something? What about the animal shelter?

I am sure if enough of you want to continue the recall (for reasons other than the library and fire service cuts that motivated MESA), they would be willing to re-file their petition with a slew of other causes.

Keep prodding them with your reasons for the recall. They are only pausing to regroup. I know they read this site; you need to re-purpose them. Go MESA!

Now I know I was dreaming and our nightmare is back. This is what I know as a person living in District 8. Lynda Bell will target each and everyone of you in Including your organization. You need to continue what you started or you will be sorry. From what I have seen and heard she is vindictive and will retaliate against people that she feels have done her wrong. You are definitely, empowering her. If you filed because of the reasons above then why not wait until the end of budget time. The BCC said it was just a threat and Lynda said she would not change her vote. So you are still on the loosing side. You need to prove this is not a threat what about 2014? If you stop the recall then Lynda has threatened you.

And the fact that Katy Sorenson, Commissioners Audrey Edmonson and Moss publicly stating that they are against Recalls because they cannot govern effectively can't help matters any.

As a side note, I got my absentee ballot today for the Homestead election. Voting is in full swing down here.

Didn't Linda Bell force the County to name a building after her mother?

I am against recall also but if a commissioner is not governing for the best interest of the citizens then I am for recall. Govern in the best interest of the people But when a politician becomes self serving then we do have options.

So now, the Library Supporters and the firefighters will not be as active in the recall effort, leaving only the Pets folks to carry their torches and pitchforks.

You don't stand a chance. Bell will crush you.

Bell will be taking names.... I couldn't figure out any group could avoid her questionable absentee ballot practices. As for homestead. ANY one but Bell.

Hate to tell you this, guys BUT, Mark Bell will be the guy whose ass is in the mayors seat but it will be Lynda's fist up his ass running the show. Have you not seen the fliers against Porter and Bateman clearly traceable to Lynda ? She is the only one with money to do this. Do not say anyone but Bell. Jeff Porter was at the epicenter of over development in Homestead and a proud promoter of the Shiver Shennanigans. Team Bell is reminding people of that and guess what, Mark "KKK" Bell will be mayor for the next 2 or more years. That, my friends is the sad reality of a once nice place, now the pit beneath an outhouse called Homestead

Porter has broken ties with Shiver.

I like the baby!

The deep financial, social and political ties that bind Porter and Shiver will never truly be broken. even so, get back to me when he parts company with serial cheater Dracula and his paymaster, Jobba the Hut.

Come on, Genius. Be the change you seek. You're a retired art teacher. I'm sure you could design a really attractive petition. All you need is about 8,000 signatures over a 60 day period. You don't even need a reason. Get Vanessa Brito to do it. I hear she's not busy. If you want Bell out, be the agent of change.

Fred Frost, what a piece of work! Mr. Recall sent his minions, en mass, to the polls to support Seijas during her recall. They were loud and obnoxious and shouted untrue things. Terry Murphy was right in the middle. So why is it OK to support a bad commissioner (Seijas) and want to recall another bad commissioner (Bell)? He lacks credibility and should step back and let others take care of the Bell recall.
