Johanna Faddis Quits As Aide to County Commissioner Lynda Bell. By Geniusofdespair

Long time Aide to Lynda Bell, Johanna Faddis has finally had it. The rumor is she couldn't stand Eddie Borrego any longer, Lynda's Chief of Staff.  Other staffers said Eddie was very disrespectful and Lynda never took any action against him. Faddis is going to Public Works from what I hear.

Mean Eddie, I know he slimmed down but you'll have to imagine him slim.

How is this woman going on to work within County Hall? Talk about misuse of office. She sued a municipality within Dist. 8 and now gets to move on within a lifetime pay off of the taxpayers. This isn't right at all.

She is a perjerer per a Judge. Are these the type of people my taxes are paying? Unbelievable.

After watching the budget hearings yesterday, I'm still at a loss that the Unions control my tax dollars with pensions & benefits unheard of in the current public sector work force unless you're running a hedge fund or have a few a MBA's!

Government employee unions need to go away across the board at all levels of Government. I'm sick of feeling like a serf within this County and this Country as a whole.

I have total support for Unions in general in the private sector because of the reasons they were created for workers rights. However, the Government eomplyees uses them to enrich themselves on our back and our dimes. (sorry, just still so angry watching the hearings yesterday.) All this nonsense with accumulated "sick days" etc. and life long pensions in the millions is just absurd and bankrupting all of us.

Faddis is just such an abuse of once inside County Hall you have a permanent job with no outside search of someone who may be more qualified which is a lot of unemployed people in this County.

This is on top of all the nepotism across the board at all levels.

Hey, KFR, talk about unjust enrichment and misuse of public office! It would take someone about a day to peer in to this crap and fire all these insiders.

Well, in Detroit I think the unions got 25 cents on the dollar for their pensions.

Public sector employees in Miami-Dade County and the City of Miami are massively overpaid. I do not mean people making $40,000 or less. I mean the 90% who make $50,000 or more are overpaid and they get excessive benefits.

The commission staff jobs are for short-termers. A move to what used to be called the "nonpolitical side" of the county is a much better long-term opportunity. Better pay, too. Unless Faddis will be working as a clerk, she got a sweetheart deal.

Joanne Faddis is yet another political hack hired by Gimenez for his administration without a job announcement or a competitive interview. Under the corrupt Gimenez hiring system, it's who you know, not what you know.

If you are not already in Gimenez's network of cronies, you have no chance of a leadership job at the county. Cronyism and nepotism is the Gimenez way. Public administration at its worst.

wasnt she involved in a bizarre sexting scandal in homestead in which the city manager proclaimed his love for her?

I would hire her to be on my staff. Hubba! Hubba! LOL!

In 2012, there were 3,697 Miami-Dade County employees who had a "Minimum Year-to-Date Salary" of at least $100,000.

And the only people hired for those $100k-$300k jobs are Gimenez cronies like Faddis. The whole system is corrupt. What a disgrace!

Is Eddie related to Natasha Seijas? He looks just like Natasha.

P said, "It's who you know, not what you know."

I heard a slightly different adage applied to the County: "It's not what you know, but who you know or who you ___."

Government employee unions need to go. Every County employee who is receiving base compensation of $100K or more needs to be looked at as to how they received this jobs in the first place. From there, dig in to their "benefit" packages including their "entitlements" of fully funded retirement. These same GOPer's are doing this County worse then Obama when it comes to pushing the can down the road. There's only so much more room to issue Bonds to pay for excesses.

In the meantime, it's their dream to make sure this younger generations is as stupid as possible by closing library, lowering education standards, and puttin Tech centers in Parks instead of in schools where there is no PE. I guess obese will long forget about open spaces to run and play while they're paved over by private development.

Sickening. This Faddis person needs to find a job in the private sector. But, that's not going to happen because Gimenez thinks Bell is all of that when I think Bell should be investigation by the FBI for all her dealings, includng intimidation of County personell to gain funding for her husbands, the least qualified person to run even the most backward City in this County. DuBois in Palmetto Bay should be right up there on that investgation list as well. He appears to bully more then most do as well. His money should buy him a good criminal defense attorney.

I say FBI because Rundle appears to be slappping those who steal elections on the writs with probation or makes up allegations like with Spence Jones and ends up getting us sued, which for the BS case to begin with.

Sosa, you were warned about Bell but decided to put her higher up on the food chain. I don't know what you expected she'd do differently then what you were told she'd do. Bell has totally misused her office as the first poster wrote. You'd have to be blind not to see it, or so adverse to investing her for whatever reason, it's incompetence to not go after her (Rundle?). That's why the Fed's have to come in and clean up this County hall mess. The locals won't do it who could do it.

Suckers = those who voted for Gimenez. He wants you dumbed down and waiting 8 hours to vote because, well, he also controls the elections department.

If this isn't a modern day version of Cuba/Castro with these clowns, I don't know what is. This is not who we elected, it's who rigged the elections better because those people walk while this petty stuff gets put on the front page.

Shame on the BCC, the Public Employee Unions and Gimenez w/his "insider" friends on the 29th floor.

We are so glad Faddis is gone. She is a bad news to everyone she worked for. Faddis was looking for a job since last year when she falsified affifidavits and lied to the court... And lost her lawsuit as a result of that.

I was told Bell told her to find a job or else ....

No more cheap and volgar dresses at Bell's office (Bovo must be sad).

There are 60 people under Harvey Ruvin who make more than $100,000. Love that link.

CONGRATULATION TO COMMISSIONER BELL FOR FADDISS DEPARTURE.

It is about time to bring a professional to your office.

I wish you do the same to your Cheif of staff.

Lovett said...

If Lynda Bell did not want Faddis working in Public Works, it would not happen. This job change was arranged by Bell.

Anonymous said...

Lovett: Gimenez or one of his henchman are responsible for hiring, well, I guess that would be Bell too since she's everywhere all the time inside County Hall. Was this position advertised, if so, where and for how long? If not, why not?

Inquiring minds.........

Beyond what people make, I am more concerned with what they do when they come to work, if they come to work.

Anonymous said...

my friends all commissioners staff go to work for the executive branch (any county department) in positions which are not advertised at all, when they advertised the positions these generally have names. Most of the staff of the commissioners move into County jobs, and get jobs which they are not qualified for. Ask Jennifer at OSBM, how many of the ex-staff from the commissioners she has in the payroll. The capable individuals in the County do not move up unless you have a friend and a good one.

Has Johanna ever obtained a job based on merit?

Anonymous said...

Johanna has merit. Haven't you read the texts of the former Homestead Manager. I hear that there is real talent.

Some bring happiness wherever they go others whenever they go. I'm sure dist. 8 is quite happy.

Anonymous said...

Quit? I doubt it. I bet Lynda got her the job making more money, overtime pay, benefits, etc... She deserves a job cleaning toilets!

To last anon,

Yes, we she was cheating on her husband.

Anonymous said...

Yes she did get a job ... When she cheated on her husband.

The anon above wants you to ask Jennifer Moon in OSBM about commission hires. While you are at it, ask her about how many Budget Department secretaries she hired without competition into high level budget analyst positions. I count three.

Jennifer is the queen of cronies. She learned from the best, the King of Cronies ... disgraced ex-county manager George Burgess. Why would Jennifer Glazer-Moon hire anyone through a competitive process when, just like Burgess and Alina Hudak, she has not gone through a competitive recruitment process since the day she arrived at the county as an intern? She is a product of a corrupt hiring and promotional system, and now she is the leader in perpetuating it.

Amazingly, despite pulling down a $212,365.54 salary last year, Glazer-Moon has no background in finance or accounting (she was an English major in college). She has made boneheaded budget decision after boneheaded budget decision (e.g., see her recommendation on the Marlin stadium purchase), and yet she is still around to make more dumb decisions.

Am I the only one who was shocked that she wasn’t fired the day Mayor Carlos Gimenez took office? When Gimenez was elected in 2011, he kept Glazer-Moon and all of the rest of the incompetent Burgess/Alvarez cronies and broke his promise to reform county government. Most of us in the system are still sick over it. I think I will throw up now.

If Lynda Bell helped Johanna Faddis get a job its because she was afraid of another lawsuit like Lois Jones did and got money.

Does anyone know what her new "job" will be? From what others have written, is it fair to assume this position was created for her?
