Lois Jones Becomes the Fifth Candidate for Homestead Mayor. By Geniusofdespair

Photo of Lois Jones from South Dade News Leader
According to the South Dade News Leader, Lois Jones is the fifth candidate for Mayor in Homestead.  Jones worked for Lynda Bell in her local office, but she is not a fan by any stretch of the imagination - she was fired, sued and won. When Bell makes enemies, she makes enemies for life.

The News Leader says:
Jones, who served for more than 25 years as the Special Assistant to the Senate President and Chief of Protocol in the California Legislature, was a commissioner on the Homestead Housing Authority and served on the City of Homestead Charter Review Committee.

“With the city lacking leadership and corruption taking a foothold, whoever gets elected will be facing a huge task,” said Jones when asked why she is running. “I want to bring Homestead up to the highest of standards.”

Ms. Jones now is the time for you to let us all know about Lynda Bell. Hope you share your experience with us. Glad you won your lawsuit and I am sure as long as she is the District 8 person other folks will sue the county. Just like in the city of Homestead when she was mayor. Now I see her husband is running for Mayor in Homestead. Homestead is in District 8.

Bell looks to be making politics a family business

Given the intimate knowledge of her opponent, Lois Jones has a grand opportunity to derail the campaign of a corrupt local politician.
Rather than a smear campaign Jones should pursue a truth campaign. In South Florida it seems truth is about the only thing missing in our elections.

Lois Jones has been the only truthful voice on the Homestead Housing Authority Board. It is refreshing to see someone qualified and with integrity like Ms. Jones finally run for mayor. I am tired of the same corrupt people always attempting to grab power for their own personal motive.
