Homestead Mayor Steven Bateman's Fundraising Host Committee. By Geniusofdespair

The election in November will be a slug fest for Mayor if Mark Bell runs against Bateman.  I have said that if faced with the two, I would have to go for Bateman.  But I hope that others will run that can win. Anyway, looking at this fundraising committee, I am wondering what all these State Senators are doing listed on it. Odd. Speaking of odd, does anyone else care that State Rep. Kionne McGhee is taking his Homestead Exemption in North West Dade but represents far South Dade County?  Who looks at these things, anyone?

The worst person I see on this list is, of course, Erik Fresen.

There is nothing worse than Homestead politics...maybe Palmetto Bay. Homestead has been at it longer so I would have to give them the WORST title.

They should have written 'State' Senator for Gwen, Dwight & Miguel. Miguel (Ferro application) is pretty bad. I don't have a problem with Artiles except he didn't live in his district 119 until it was re drawn! The others are usual suspects I would expect supporting Bateman.

Agree Homestead is worst in the state. This is just a Mafia operation. Instead of the names you listed, insert the names of special interests who fund their political campaign accounts.

Hartley is Bateman's boss at Community Health.
Camarillo is a new player who has greased palms and is now looking for city handouts in Homestead.
Perez is the same as Camarillo. Camarillo moved into Bateman's fairways neighborhood recently. He is being mentored by Steve Shiver who is the disgraced former county manager.
Artiles is being spoonfed lies by Bateman and Perez to turn commercial truck traffic from Krome Avenue down Campbell to the turnpike. Campbell is not wide enough nor is the intersection of Krome and Campbell able to accept such a move without massive redesign.
Larry Abbo is the current landlord for Homestead City Hall and a huge donor to Bateman especially after Bateman waived more than $100,000 in code enforcement violations.
This is some group, basically imitating a cartel of hooligans and pickpockets.

I want to see who Lynda Bell will bring forward for Mark's fundraiser. This is going to be the best election to watch and will be telling for 2014.

Supposedly State Representatives don't have to live in their districts.

Dreamer, yes they do. Congressional reps don't.

Dreamer you are wrong. Only Feds don't .

I know it's a lost cause, but any one of those candidates were to run on the idea of an over-haul of that "cash cow" power company's
rates would get my vote now. That antiquaited Plant facility
milks subscribers every day.
On the other hand a sell-out to FP&L would enhance the city & cause new businesses to want to come to Homestead.

I agree with that. Sell Homestead Energy to FPL.
Rates would fall by at least 25%

You keep promising us someone to run against Lynda. Will the candidate announce before qualifying ends?
