County Commissioner Lynda Bell's Luncheon with the Old Folks. By Geniusofdespair

The Lynda Bell luncheon was a huge success. There were 3 buffet tables, 15 raffle (TV's, gift cards, cakes) and 4 free tickets to the Marlin's game for everyone. About 200 people showed up. I hope her Mayor Gimenez fundraiser was a success as well. Big day for Lynda Bell.  Retirement communities, Pinewood Villa and East Ridge people were there.

Many of the people came on the buses provided.
Bell said the food was donated. Big Lots was a contributor.
School children from Palmer Trinity entertained the over 55 year old folks.
Plenty of food and also plenty of Lynda Bell brochures on the tables.
Plenty of Lynda Bell signage too.

Lynda Bell doesn't even know what is in her district's Cities. She mislabeled Palmetto Bay stores as being in Cutler Bay and visa-versa.

Campaigning on tax dollars? Nice. Using a church as well, not legal in campaigns. I guess it's legal as a district event since she would have to somehow rent it out and not say it's a campaign event. Any sign in sheet? If so, I'd like a copy. Maybe I'll do a public records request and wait for it until December of 2014. There's something so wrong with all of this but anyone stupid enough to vote for her not realizing their taxes just paid for this lunch deserves her! If the general public really understood their money actually pays for these giveaways by the commissioners, they'd re think this stuff. That's assuming they had an IQ over 95 or higher than Bell's.

It would be nice to say "paid for by your tax dollars, which fund commissioner district offices". Wait, her bff Gimenez wouldn't want the people to really know what's going on. Can't wait for her campaign report to blast all over Youtube. Legal corruption at it's best. "Let them eat cake." I say everyone needs to just vote anti incumbent at all levels in 2014. Let's take back our County from this nonsense.

Barf Meter please!

I had to stand in the hot sun for about 25 minutes before I could enter the luncheon. I thought I would absolutely faint. Mrs. Bell shows up and the line moved a little faster. I thought it was about 150 people not 200. At an event like this we can not stand in the sun. Please organize your event a little better for our health sake.

It is a continual campaign on our dime. She had a couple of her staffers manning a table at the entrance to the Farm Bureau BBQ for several hours on Saturday night. They were handing out tote bags with her name embazoned on them. Who paid for this and why are they necessary; no, are they legal and if they are, they should not be. That would truly be ethics reform but alas, it is the incumbent retention plan.
Here is an idea. Do a public records request for the names of those oldsters who attended and send them a mail piece with the rest of the story about her higness.

She's walking in the footsteps of VNS.

These folks don't look like my neighbors .... Heck, I don't see any 55 year olds there.

She has sent her staff to public events in all her municipalities. How about a public records request for all the sign in sheets at all the events that her staff or herself has attended since her election. The sign in sheet includes name, address, email address etc. That could be a great contacts list.

I'm upset because my tax money is being used to feed those folks who can feed themselves. Buses, cake, staffers from the county, all on my dime. How about the street repairs or just all the folks that got laid off from employment with the County. We get less services and she feeds the old folks - sorry voters.

Do it for every commissioner, not just Bell because they all do the same thing. Barbara Jordan throws Valentine's Day parties and jazz festivals.
