Thanks Marco Rubio...for nothing. By Geniusofdespair

Wikipedia: The Violence Against Women Act of 1994 (VAWA) is a United States federal law signed as Pub.L. 103–322 by President Bill Clinton on September 13, 1994. The Act provides $1.6 billion toward investigation and prosecution of violent crimes against women, imposes automatic and mandatory restitution on those convicted, and allows civil redress in cases prosecutors chose to leave unprosecuted. The Act also establishes the Office on Violence Against Women within the Department of Justice. Male victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking are also covered.

Rubio Said: “These funding decisions should be left up to the state-based coalitions that understand local needs best, but instead this new legislation would put those decisions into the hands of distant Washington bureaucrats in the Department of Justice.

Unfortunately, I could not support the final, entire legislation that contains new provisions that could have potentially adverse consequences”

I hope everyone remembers this Rubio vote. Also see the South Florida Daily Blog.

We have to begin now to plan to take that senate seat. He does not represent me, nor most of the women in the State of Florida.
