Friggin' Commissioner Joe Martinez's Departing Shot. By Geniusofdespair

Is this presentation a parting shot of disrespect to Dennis Moss by outgoing Commissioner Joe Martinez?  The WATF group (Wetland's Task Force was charged with recommending rewritten rules for DERM) is having a presentation of their findings. Why on earth do we have to hear separately from Alice Pena who ran a lousy campaign against Dennis Moss in retaliation for his steadfast stand against her wacky wishes.

This woman was part of the WATF group and her voice was heard there ad nauseam. She never shut up. She trotted out all her pals to make comments at every meetings. If she didn't like the outcome of the group's findings, it is only because she is so radical and her views are so off base. Shut this woman up already. She is being heard first at the Commission meeting today. Why couldn't Martinez have recognized her when the group was making the presentation instead? This is an end run around the group and a kick in the butt to Moss. I hope Dennis Moss is there to set the record straight on Pena.  Commissioner Suarez, Heyman, Sosa, Monestime and Edmonson, lets see you flex your muscles against the unreformable majority on the Commission, and send this woman packing.

The name WATF sounds suspiciously like WTF. It seems Pena has a sense of humor.

Yes -- WTF?? She has been given way more than her due in this whole process. Martinez is simply embarassing himself with this stunt. Hopefully Moss or someone else will simply shut her down. And let's hope this will be her last word -- maybe dreaming - but I am soooo tired of this woman.

Let her have her silly say and keep exposing the truth In eye on miami.

Last time she got her citizen presentation she rambled on for 15 minutes. No other citizens get that kind of lattitude. Glad that Martinez is outta there.

They are about to start. On my TV it is on channel 76. Also try 77.

Enjoy your last day at the dais Ms. Pena. You and whiny Comm. Joe won't be missed.

Pena has been railing about 8.5 sq mile for decades. She is a nit wit with a simple-minded and narrow agenda. Obviously the voters recognized her as a blubbering idiot and soundly rejected her. Why is Martinez giving her the time of day? Commissioner anti-environment, pro-sprawl should be ashamed. Maybe he thinks it's his duty to fill-in for our long gone Seijas. Maybe he has a developer lobbyist position waiting. No commissioner should take the bait. This woman is toxic and Martinez doesn't smell too good either. Thinking commissioners will shut down this dog and pony show.

I sure hope Moss is there today. He at least knows the issues. What a diss of Moss.

This is the kind of stuff the Herald should be exposing. Joe Martinez tipping his hat for change, on his way out.

11:24: they still haven't heard the item. I think Pena must have been late but she is there now with all her people. It was supposed to be heard first...was first on the agenda.

11:48 Pepe recently arrived. Maybe now???

Bye, Joe. We will not miss you!

Any update? I missed this whole thing. She's a real PiS and I'll add the WTF as to why this is on the agenda. I hope 2014 sweeps out Bell for this crap as well!

It is 1:49. Martinez will be absent this afternoon. Looks like Pena might not get to speak.

That would be poetic justice.

Pena ended up speaking for 7 minutes (usually you get thrown out at 3 or 5). No one made a comment. She was dismissed because Martinez wasn't there. Good. She waited all day to say the same exact thing she said at her last presentation.

Thanks Genius. I don't understand how Martinez can still be on the BCC. I've never understood that protocol. After "resigning to run" how was he allowed to stay on, now Zapata is the new commissioner, but he's still there!

To Martinez: Go away, hang with the Vile one for a while!

The BCC did exactly what they should've done all along - they just ignored her. Finally!

LOL

I couldn't be happier "I'm not a crook" Martinez will be gone. He's still hanging on tooth and nail and probably having lawyers (for free like his home) review the charter 100 million times trying to figure out how to stay on the BCC!

PoS doesn't even describe him well enough, there has to be something much worse. At least we have one less Great Destroyer, but Bell & le Pew are still on the BCC, so hopefully 2014 will bring in some more new faces.

Not everyone on the BCC ignored Pena. Didn’t Bell suggest that her fellow commissioners take a trip out to the 8.5 SMA, even fly over it, to “see how dry it is” out there?

I sat through those meetings. Even the rest of the Task Force rolled their eyes everytime she spoke. She went nuts because they refused to be the rubber stamp that she thought she had talked Commissioner Bell into. And the funniest part was that there were others in the audience who felt she had not done enough to represent the interests of the 8.5 SMA residents. The fact is, her "facts" jst can't hold up to scrutiny and the truth. Hope she finally moves on to doing something constructive.

Bell is Alice Pena's BFF;She's the one behind the 8.5 mile area crap supporting Alice and won't be happy until she has completely done away with DERM and every environmental code....Bell sucks and so does Pena! Hopefully Moss will flex some muscle on Bell and make her cut it out.....
