All I Can Say Is, It is Lucky For Carlos Gimenez that Joe Martinez is Such a Bad Candidate. By Geniusofdespair

Why on earth would Carlos Gimenez put Commissioner Lynda Bell prominently on the COVER of his first campaign flyer to voters?

This photo really turned me off big time. I'm not the only one turned off, I have had dozens of calls about this photo.

If Joe Martinez wasn't so bad, Carlos Gimenez wouldn't be looking so good.

Ick to this flyer. Actually NONE of the Commissioners should have been on his flyer. Seriously, Bruno Barreiro? Would you want to be photographed with him if you were running for Mayor?

Carlos Gimenez's PAC picked up another $378,370.00 this cycle. Joe Martinez's PAC, Get it Done only raised $115,200.00 ($30,000 from the PBA).

Tea party darlings.

Is it too late for another candidate even as a write in?

you could have done a comment without attacking the blogger. You didn't, you get deleted.

If you note in the photo, the people in the back clapping are not looking in the direction of Gimenez. They are all looking to the left of him. This is obviously photoshopped. So I don't believe for a minute that this was the ONLY good picture of the Mayor. He chose it with Bell. He could have chose one with Martinez for that matter...

I even see Miguel DeGrandy behind Sosa. What a bad picture of her.

Mayor Carlos Gimenez, SNOWING THE HERALD, RAISING YOUR TAXES.

The Mayor's proposed tax rates generate $46 million more than last year. Florida Law will require the County to advertise a NOTICE OF TAX INCREASE in the Herald before the first budget hearing in September - weeks after the August 14th election. (See page 48 of Volume 1 of the budget)

When the Herald has your back, their reporters conveniently overlook the facts.

A real leader would be straightforward and honest about raising your taxes. Deceiving the public should not be tolerated. I'm voting for one of the other candidates, maybe Denny Wood.

Carlito wanted some eye candy.

Hahahaha!

As a strategist for Carlos, I can tell you that no one recognizes Bell except the campaign contributors and lobbyists who do care that C. lines up on their side. It didn't cost the candidate anything. But we appreciate your concern. Keep blogging!

Keeping promises? Gimenez promised me that he would give me a call in the new year. Still waiting ....

I'll see your Ick and consider this high on the Barf Meter!

Too bad we have no other viable choices other than skipping the vote altogether.

What an Ass, but he's better than Martinez - isn't that a shame that's the only alternative...........

Joe Martinez is a crook.

Anyone notice that Gimenez lawn signs are almost nonexistent? The few hardworking volunteer campaign workers Gimenez had in the last election are not helping him this time around. Thousands of signs were purchased with no one to place them around the county.

That said, G.O.D. is correct. Despite a poor campaign infrastructure, Gimenez will still win because of weak opposition and the power on incumbency.

This is a picture from his inauguration. All the commissioners were there and Gimenez had the misfortune of getting a good shot of himself with Linda right there. Nobody but the slim minority of voters who actually follow county politics will have a clue who practically anyone in the pictures are.

Also it isn't photoshopped. Too much work to try to pull off for no particular purpose. If they were going to go through that trouble, you'd think they would have plopped Norman Braman in the picture instead.

In reality, people have a weird habit of watching the giant TV screen in the Board chamber even when the speaker is right in front of them.

Well we do have choice besides Gimenez. Just find out about the candidate you might be able to live with. That is what a democracy is about. Just make sure you vote.

Instead of focusing just on how much money Gimenez is raising, consider how much he's wasting. Money paid to Dario Moreno is a waste. His polling is useless. Armando Gutierrez is a waste. He's an old gasbag. Gimenez's campaign is weighed down by a lot of pigs that are just feeding at the trough.

The reason you don't see campaign signs is because they have all been stolen! If you notice all the signs that Gimenez had up have been slashed via the 4 corners in all locations. My yard sign was stolen from my lawn I think other campaigns need to start campaigning and stop stealing signs if you ask me people who are desperate steal because they have no platform to run on!

WHY WHY WHY would he put Lynda Bell on the cover of a countywide flyer? Doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

The anon above explained it perfectly. This is a good pic of Gimenez. It was at the inauguration. People are clapping. He did not plan to put Lynda Bell up front. That's where she was sitting when the photographer took a good pic. G.O.D. was there taking photos, too, and can confirm that the photo is not doctored.

By the way, no one even knows who Lynda Bell is except people who read this blog.

Geniusofdespair said...

Jack go back and read the comments. I believe the picture is doctored. Where would you get the impression that I said it was not. Everyone BEHIND Lynda is looking off to the center of the room NOT WHERE GIMENEZ IS STANDING. Look at the woman and everyone below the bright light. They are not looking in the right direction. I don't believe for a minute this photo was not doctored. I think Gimenez might have been inserted.

You are being silly, and I am not attacking you. Watch the video of the installation ceremony HERE. You can see it all from a different angle. The photo was snapped at the 1 minute and 15 second mark. Freeze it and examine it. You will change your mind on this photo. The people who are looking at the center are either looking at Harvey Ruvin (who had just announced Gimenez as the new mayor) or the video screen.

Anonymous said...

Well the video settles it. Bell was there. Neither Bell nor Gimenez was inserted. So much for conspiracy theories.

Geniusofdespair said...

Give me a break of course they both were there. No one is arguing that they both were or we're there. I took pictures of both of them there.

I am arguing he could have chosen a shot without LYNDA IN IT. That perhaps this one was doctored because of the different directions people are looking.

Pay attention. I watched the video. It is from a different angle. Go do something else. This is so not important. Yes I don't like Lynda and the photo offended me and many of our readers. Well I didn't like Natacha and looked what happened to her? Photos with Natacha in it are now toxic. This could be a toxic photo of the future -- mark my words!!!

I also heard about Gimenez signs being slashed on the corners. That's very mafia-like.

We need people to take pictures of this and maybe add a 2nd sign that says "the other guy cut up my Gimenez lawn sign"

Anonymous said...

This is the most disgusting picture just by having Lynda Bell in it. Lynda is a shutterbug and will always find a way to insert herself in anyone she thinks can further her political career.
Mayor Gimenez does not and is not like Lynda. Mayor promise us if you are going to move forward you will watch the company you keep.

Helen B. Williams is running again this time as well. Remember that in 2008, she received almost 40% of the vote against then incumbent Carlos Alvarez. The second time may be the charm for her!

Geniusofdespair said...

She got 34%.

Most challengers could be a twig and still get 30% against an incumbent. That is the dissatisfaction rate.

I wonder how many more votes Helen might have been able to get if "boleteras" didnt exist?
