These pictures were taken June 29th at the Phillies vs. Marlins Game. The Philadelphia Phillies' Carlos Ruiz is the number 1 batter in the league so this isn't a "B" game. Now that all the hoopla is over, are we back to empty seats at the Miami Marlin's Stadium?
What idiots we were to pay for this...and we will be paying it off for quite some time.

Miami voters are such suckers.
How much $ does each empty seat represent in tax payers dollars?
I'm going down to the Arsht Center and take in the 10th roadshow of Cats!, then to the britto Gallery, then to the Performing Parrot Jungle, then to the Homestead Racetrack, then to Jorge Perez Museum of Personal Vanities, and I'm then going to go to Versailles for cafecito, sit down and try to decide: is it something in the drinking water, or, is it the Miami Herald and its publishers, or is it the climate that makes Miami the stupidest little big city in America.
Oh I forgot the old Miami Arena and the new Miami arena.
Come on where is your civic pride?
$2 billion dollars down the drain.
Air conditioning that space for a half filled stadium is a big nut. They said there were 28,000 last night. I doubt it, I was there. Maybe that is why they built the smallest stadium (capacity wise) in baseball. They knew this would happen and are banking on getting money from TV and not from fans attending.
Try to find the attendance record from the league or team website. They won't match what you see if you attend these venues.
Remember, though, this series pits two under-performing teams against one another in a battle for last place in the NL East. Otherwise, there would have been thousands of Phillies fan there. Which doesn't make Miami look any smarter.
We are a basketball town...
The Miami Fizzle ... that would be more appropriate than Marlins. When was the last time you saw a marlin?
MLB attendance numbers are based on the number of tickets sold, not "butts in seats".
That kind of accounting is the same kind of accounting the marlins and our county manager used when they sold the stadium project to the public.
Well, at least Natasha Seijas (VNS) got seat #13 and the rest of the row all for herself.
Attendance for the sunday afternoon game was announced at 32,000 for a stadium holding 37K. It definitely looked a lot more crowded than your pics.
If those seats were sold, but not a butt in the seat, who cares? It means the money was made.
