Allen West Gets His Campaign Money From the Retired. By Geniusofdespair

James Barr of Wood River Illinois, Clinton Basey of Silver Lakes Oregon, Thomas Berryman of Ashland Kansas, Charles Blackwell of Claypool Arizona, Darryl Brown of Lexington Kentucky, Phillip Brown of Atlanta Georgia, Thaddeus Buda of Lansing Michigan, Charles Bunner of Fairmont West Virginia, Barbara Busse of Mukwonago Wisconsin and Walter Byers of Emmett Kansas all have a few things in common.

Their last names all begin with 'B', they are all retired and they all gave to the candidate Allen West. Charles Bunner gave $10 in the last report ($211 overall).

It is like all these old people are making monthly payments on their Chevy, except their Chevy is Allen West. I would say less than 10% of his money is coming from within his district. How did all these people from mostly God-forsaken little towns find West? I only looked at the A's and the B's and let me tell you I did a lot of scrolling. West's report is 1,633 pages.

From 1/1/2012 through 3/31/2012 West collected $1,812,151.71. In the election cycle to date he has collected $7,659,686.83.

Running against West is Democrat Patrick Murphy (there is a second Democrat Jim Horn, who only has $5,000 so I won't discuss him this post). Did Murphy follow West in West's change of district or are the records not up to date? The report "Friends of Patrick Murphy" is 160 pages. Murphy collected $350,556.24 1/1/2012 through 3/31/2012. To date he has collected $1,768,390.88. Maybe 60% of his contributions are from Florida donors including Charlie Crist and wife Carole. And, Murphy's report isn't bankrolled by retirees, many of his donors hold down jobs. I think we should deduct Social Security monies from people who give to Allen West. After all, they are T Bagger people and I am sure they don't believe in welfare for the aged...except, of course, for themselves.

I wonder what the Koch brothers are doing for West? He is their dream candidate.  I hope he loses so much so that I might put some bucks against him.  I have just so much money to donate, and I am mostly giving to local County races but I might also do Obama and Murphy. I wish I had more money to dole out. Think about giving for good government...or at least tolerable government.

This guy is a tragedy. We have to right it. Why are we letting the rest of the country pick our leaders?

I had lunch with Patrick Murphy. He's a bright young guy and would be a terrific Congressman.

And never once did he claim that he had a higher security clearance than President Obama.

Allen West is among the most dangerous elected officials. He has called colleagues communists, uses his position to denounce people who do not agree with his point of view, and has no understanding of how government works. We con only hope that he is not elected to the House this fall.

If you don't want West re-elected; then donate or volunteer to the Patrick Murphy campaign.

It really is that simple!

Every dollar and every volunteer hour matters.

It really is up to us to make the right decision and to do the right thing.
