Sea level rise: where in Miami? ... by gimleteye

Last week, AP published a widely distributed report by Tamara Lush on the costs of beach replenishment in Florida. It ends, ""The only way that beach replenishment would work long term on the St. Joseph Peninsula is that if we have no more coastal storms and no hurricanes hit the Gulf," one environmentalist said. Is the United States exhibiting  bipolar disorder on climate change? You betch'a.

No one knows how fast sea level rise will occur, in increments that destroy real estate values. According to a new report by Climate Central, South Florida is the most vulnerable place in the nation, with the most people and property at risk of sea level rise.

I am of the opinion that the crumbling roadways on the Venetian Causeway and Miami Beach are indicators of sea level rise. But I suppose we will all have to wait for the first super high moon tide to hit coastal Biscayne Bay and fail to fall, before anyone pays much attention.

This is a catastrophe waiting to happen. In 2020, 15,000 homeowners in Miami Beach alone may well be flooded, just the tip of the iceberg, demanding relocation help from Uncle Sam. Many will be the same people who are now climate change deniers, fighting against any cuts to CO2 emissions. And environmentalists are the bad guys???

Stop spewing your rising sea level/ climate change nonsense. Didn't you hear that your hypocritical hero Al Gore just purchased an $8 million oceanfront mansion in Montecito, California?  Would a prudent property investor purchase a multi-million dollar oceanfront mansion if he expected it to be underwater soon?

Gore's Montecino home is on a coastal hilltop, not oceanfront. It is high enough to see the ocean as it rises. How high up is your house, Cowboy?

Believe it or not, this as Al Gore's SECOND ocean-front property. In 2005, Gore purchased an ocean-front penthouse at San Francisco's St. Regis condo/hotel tower, one of the most expensive addresses in the world, apparently unconcerned that rising sea levels might soon deluge the hotel lobby, if not his own dining room.

All of his properties were bought and paid for with the millions he has made on the bogus climate change issue.

Obama' s cult is supassed only by that of AlGore. It is amazing how gullible people can be.

Cowboy, the St. Regis isn't oceanfront. It's on Mission Street by the museum.
