There are a lot of judges up for reelection in 2012. So far only the Group 20 incumbent Fleur Jeannine Lobree, who was appointed by Rick Scott, has drawn 2 challengers. No wonder! I wouldn't vote for anyone Rick appointed.
I only know one of the judges running, Mary Jo Francis. Wonderful woman. Group 28 has two people running, no incumbent. The Judge campaign managers are usually Bob Levy, Susan Fried (recognizable by her dark brown lip-liner) and Armando Gutierrez. Sometimes these handlers get someone to run against the other's candidate just for sport. It can get pretty nasty in the judge's races. A judge can't actually say much to garner your vote because they aren't suppose to have any opinions. If you ask them something you would typically ask a political candidate, they probably can't give you an answer. What you can ask: Have you done any volunteer work or community work? Most of them will say something stupid. A lot of them will say I did work with Habitat for Humanity which means they volunteered for 3 hours to hammer in a few nails in 1983. Look for some actual community work. Grill them. Some judges, to scare off competition, will loan their campaign a large sum of money like $100,000 (Group 43 Joe, and in Group 28 Tanya and John have all loaned their campaigns $100,000).
You will have to vote on the Judges that get challengers so do your homework.

Wow. Susan aint aging well.
It is very hard for judges as they run on their name only. Voters vote on ethnic sounding names. Their races are ripe for absentee ballot fraud.
Thanks Genius for keeping us informed. Judges do get pushed to the back when they run for election or reelection. Nobody usually knows who they are or what races are up or, really anything about them and we go to the polls blindly.
You can only imagine how much I welcome the list you provided us. There you are, looking after us again.
Thank you. Please know that I applaud and support you constantly for your hard work.
Thank you reader. We should have more of you...
Susan F reallllly looks beat
Vanessa Brito said she will be now focusing her campaign consultant efforts on judicial races. I guess the regular campaigns weren't working out so well.
This blog left out the underhanded work of Judicial Nominations Committee member for the 3rd DCA Hector Lombana, Esq. of the law firm of "Gamba, Lombana & Herrera" who is using his Governor appointed position to target judges. He also positions himself to serve as campaign treasurer in many accounts and diverts the action. Two recent victims are Judge Teretha Thomas and currently Judge Nuria Saenz who as we understand did not vote for Chief Judge as Hector Lombana intended her to vote. Because of this allegedly sad occurrence Hector Lombana recruited a rookie lawyer with just about 5 years of experience to run against Judge Saenz. Many have seen Hector Lombaba's attacks on Judge Saenz on FB and other blogs wherein he slanders the good judge. This while he serves as Treasurer for the opponent which clearly violates the Judicial Cannons of Ethics. Seems that this Cuban Refugee who left the Island to escape and avoid the political brutality of Fidel Castro has emerged as the Tony Montana of the Miami-Dade Legal scene. Throwing his weight (figuratively and literally) around and pushing judges to fear him, his cases and his firm.
Please investigate. This blog can help the judges and lawyers keep this bully in check. Contact Judge Saenz.
