Hey, don't forget to bring branch offices to Broward and Palm Beach Counties as well. They're not exactly angels petting little kittens over there either.
The reason Palm Beach & Broward don't need an FBI headquarters is because their County State Attorney actually prosecutes instead of letting everyone skate except the low level people. Our Ethics Dept. and State Attorney are both to blame on so many different levels. Maybe the FBI can start there!
Is Perez going to pay back the taxpayers & banks he screwed over first, before he "donates" more of our tax dollars (indirectly) back to the already tax payer funded Museum? This is the new beginning of a Hiaasen novel if I've ever seen with this premise! And, remember, after Perez screwed over the banks, he received "management contracts" from them because he "voluntarily" gave them back! What a crock of crap! And, these were banks us, the taxpayers, bailed out so they could make this sweetheart deal, letting Perez off the hook for his loans, then paying him - what a great County.
What he did to us, the taxpayers, makes the Marlin's look like Santa Claus!
I thought the Feds had offices in South Florida. Can't believe they don't.
There is no place in the United States that I can identify that is as corrupt as Miami-Dade County. The people who run for office are all below minimal standards. They get their little group together and then set out to steal their way into and during office. And the worst part of it is that the people are dumb enough to let them get away with it. What do you think is going to happen if we don't stand up to them?
How that baseball stadium could ever get off the gound is beyond me and now the mess with the parking garage. The Marlins must be laughing and patting themselves on the back for getting away with it, letting the taxpayers pay for something most people did not want. Who were the County and Miami negotiators? Did the County attorneys get involved?
I hope the Feds wipes up the floor with them. What a bunch of morons!
I also hope the Fed's look in to the Marlin's hiring and discriminatory practices!
As to US Century - we can only hope! It's just amazing that none of our local pol's (at the City, County, State, and let's add Rivera in there for fun!) are doing the perp walk even though they (my opinion) have basically stolen and mis spent our tax dollars, raped our Natural resources for the "friends", steal votes from the handicapped & elderly and I can just go on.
I'd love to move the heck out of here, back to the USA - not this H*** hole but I can't sell my house for what I paid for it more than 11 years ago!
They should really look into the relationships between Javier Souto (former Penelas Chief of Staff) Alfredo Mesa (another Penelas do boy and now Executive with the Marlin's foundation a job created as payback) and George Burgess. This scheme was cooked up a long time ago in County Hall. Request all emails between them back then and any and all communication between Burgess and these clowns.
Funny how the Herald says the city of Miami was hoodwinked on the deal with the Marlins about the property taxes. To me it was either a very sloppy job in reviewing the agreement, or otherwise, an knowing in-house deal purposely favoring the Marlins. You pick - misfeasance or malfeasance.

Honestly the FBI should just move its headquarters to Miami.
Actually FBI should take office space at city and county halls.

Gimlete, you've out done yourself this morning!
And, I love some of these comments as well.

You turkey, look at the 4th comment, I give the address...
It should be called the Miami-Dade Taxpayers Art Museum since we invested a heluva lot more than sleazy Jorge Perez.
Pssst: the FBI's also in the office park immediately east of the Doral CC...

I think the sign isn't big enough
