Hialeah Runoff Election Results. By Geniusofdespair

Waiting...the absentee votes should be in momentarily. I think the absentee results will tell us who won. I hope to be surprised but I don't expect to be. 34.83% voter turnout.
Mayor
Carlos Hernandez - 63.69% absentee
Raul Martinez - 36.31%
Council I
Loudes Lozano - 63.84%
Alex Morales - 36.16%
III
Danny Bolanos - 30.32%
Vivian Casals-Munoz 69.68%
VI
Paul Hernandez - 60.06%
Frank Lago - 39.94%

Another election that will go the way of the absentee ballots. Just saw results. Not much of a change.

The whole election makes me throw up. There are no winners here. Everyone is a loser.

the power of the absentee ballot machine. when one party has control of the senior housing and the other doesn't you get these warped results.
absentee ballot reform please!
of course there are also some stupid voters in the city so they are going to get what they deserve, but I'm just saying is all................

I would have wanted to see former state senator, Rudy Garcia, to have demonstrated the same passionate speeches and "embrace" for the issues as he did when congratulating and embracing Carlos Hernandez last night. I was shocked!

This past election in the city of Hialeah proves that we need ELECTION REFORM.

While I was voting yesterday at the Station 2 firehouse in East Hialeah, I watched how my own neighbor, who was passing out literature outside for Carlos Hernandez and his slate, went inside with another older gentleman, they filled out an "Assistance Declaration" and he voted for him!

I may have lost a friendly relationship with this neighbor, but I had to make some noise! C'mon these are the United States of America and too people in history have fought for our rights. This is wrong, and I told him so.

Later, I learned this is legal. Well, as I told my neighbor, it might be legal but it is immoral and I am appalled that you would participate in such an act.

And, there I was with my yellow cardboard that read, "We Denounce absentee ballot fraud and abuse of the elderly. We need election reform," and some of the people from the Hernandez camp telling me I could not do that. Huh? They don't even speak English!

These are the United States. We need Election Reform!

Somebody told me this is a lost battle. Huh? We have not even begun. I AM GOING TO JOIN THE FIGHT FOR ELECTION REFORM.
