Steve Losner and Steve Bateman
I just called the Homestead Clerk's Office. Steve Bateman is running for Mayor of Homestead again and Steve Losner is running against him. I am glad there are two candidates so issues will be raised. Good luck fella's, may the MOST HONEST man win!

They both have the same bad traits, including racism, … the only “one” difference, Losner is not corrupt.

Any vote for Bateman is a vote for continuing the corruption. sweetheart deals to pals and compromising the city's boards.

Hay---Losner was instrumental in getting the Royal Palms trees planted along Krome Ave years back and too, he had trouble getting elected several times running,
but he's blossomed and probably would make somewhat of an honest mayor following in the footsteps of
his Mom. I'd give him a fair shot.

At this point, I'm tempted to start a write in for Lynda Bell! Anything to get her off the Commission. Hudstead deserves her, the County doesn't, we have enough problems.
The problem with Losner is Losner Sr. His father is a loose cannon around town and did a lot of damage during the Warren regime with Epling. Losner Sr. is going to be Losner the candidates undoing. If you think Alger has free reign now, just wait if Losner gets in. It will be like the Warren regime redux!
If Ramiro and Tranthem are running, the Bait-N-Switch (BNS) team is pulling what they did in the last election; forcing a runoff for the seat.
Ramiro has ties to Audelia Martinez, who was once a devotee of Lonser. However, have come to the conclusion this was all smoke and mirrors; her ties to the Housing Authority through the Berrones family connection leaves me wondering.
Jim Tranthem is another one. He has tried to get the Keys Gate seat many times over and has failed; he does have a small following of voters in Keys Gate and the strategy is to take votes away from Jon.
I predicted the BNS team is hoping this is where Jim comes in. Jim takes away votes from Jon, Ramiro gets the Hispanic vote; votes from the assisted care elderly who are driven to the polls by the BNS team and all the duped absentee ballots; just like the last election.

Why are you readers writing about a Jim in comments? Homestead you have to stop writing personal things about people...drinking, sex, they hate children...etc. Come on stick to issues.

I do believe that it is your fault that the corupt people keep gaining political office because you are afraid of posting the truth. Ever heard of the first amendment dumbass??? The push back from the council is the only thing that prevents Bateman from further destroying the city. He couldn't get his way, so he moved to the housing authority...
We all see what success that has turned out to be!!!!

OMG, I just had an epiphany! If Bateman loses to Losner and Bell is recalled, Bateman will run for the Dist. 8 seat! So, on that thought, I would propose no more Hudstead rejects on the County commission. I think that should be in the County Charter! (joke alert for those with no sense of humor)
In regard to the two Steve, the City loses no matter which one is elected. They both have agenda's and neither one is the "honest" candidate. It's a toss up and kind of a pick your poison election.
Steve Bateman is Homestead's version of Tom Vu. Look Tuan Vu up.
