Julio Robaina Talks About Absentee Ballot Fraud on LIsten305. by Geniusofdespair

Albert Harum-Alvarez's Show Listen305 hosted former State Rep. Julio Robaina. He spoke about Absentee Ballot fraud, here is a 3 minutes audio clip of the show. I urge you to listen to it. Julio was in enough elections to know how it works. Most politicians will not talk about this publicly. Thank you Julio (TGO) for your candor. He nails Rundle.

Remember the one thing you can do now is ask your County Commissioner to put a penalty on County Code, Section 12-14. That ordinance prohibits the practice of picking up more than one ballot from a non-relative but there is no penalty attached to it. Without a penalty the practice is unenforceable as a criminal offense.

We don't agree much on politics, but I love your advocacy in this area. Thank you!

The illegal AB machine will never be broken, and unless it is, nothing here will ever change. Ipso facto, nothing here will ever change.

The winners -- which include KFR and elected judges who would have to act -- have no incentive to change the system that empowers them. They can and do always knock down any complaints by chalking it up to losers' sour grapes.

The depth, breadth and saturation of corruption in the "electoral" process in this town is complete. As bad as you can imagine it to be, it is actually far worse than you think.

A very successful politician said: "Those who cast the votes decide nothing. Those who count the votes decide everything." **

You can publish and crusade and expose all you like. You can interview boleteros in Macy's Flagler Street window. You can hold screenings at the Miami Film festival of videos of the Sweetwater cop cars delivering bins filled with ABs. You can play the recorded calls of the ballot brokers as a regular program on WLRN radio. You can picket KFR's offices in your thousands.

You can do as you please.

But all your outrage and righteous indignation will never move the system by a millimeter. How could it. You do not live in anything approaching a democracy and your political superiors do not work for you. It's the other way around and when you're not in the room -- which is mostly -- they laugh at you while they count your money. Their contempt for you is unalloyed. You amuse them.

KFR is the face of corruption in this county. She is the great enabler. Yet when she stands for reelection, she runs unopposed. Why? Because the system is rigged and all potential opponents know it. KFR and the people pulling her strings are the shadow controllers behind the Ethics commission.

Pepe Diaz has taken on election reform in the past and I am sure he will introduce penalties for this illegal conduct.

real reform would require that all of these absentee ballot rich senior sites set up early voting on site, with monitors to observe. Take the absentee ballot out of the equation.

AB work is nothing new and despite the horrific tales told by JRjr, it all comes down to the voter.

Sure, older voters are often gullible and exposed but they have the option of not voting or voting their own ballot.

Older voters have been attending candidate events forever - ever heard of the condo commandos? The towers in North Dade have seen free bagel breakfasts for at least 30 years.

If a person is willing to give up control of her vote, there is nothing any of us can do to stop it. For those who are vulnerable or infirm, I agree, prosecute their caretakers as felons.

I was so excited to see that Julio Robaina was commenting on this topic until I saw it was the other one. When will he be changing his name?

Julio was rather tempered in his remarks. The boletero tactics are far more abhorrent than mentioned. As voter apathy becomes more of an epidemic in Miami-Dade, the brokers and the dollars that buy them exert a huge influence in the outcome of elections.

If Carlos Gimenez does not reduce pay and benefits for the 27,000 County public sector employees and executives then Julio Robaina will become Mayor in 2012.

Gimenez needs to fire 3,000 slacker employees and he needs to reduce the Take Home Vehicle fleet by 75%. Now.

This is basically the reason why Julio Robaina can't get elected: he's a decent man. A REAL MENSCH! And he shows how much of an innocent he really is when he criticizes KFR. C'mon Julio, how can the woman fight the method that has helped elect her time after time? She is dishonest, NOT CRAZY!

Carlos Alvarez = Carlos Gimenez?

We hope not, but Gimenez handing out money to fire union members again looks bad...

Maybe the voteing public in Miami Dade county will one day be able to elect our political representives based on their ability rather than just being hispanic. However, based on our past history I do not see that happening any time soon. How can voteing for a person only because their hispanic and from Cuba or cuban background gets you elected above everybody else reguardless of their ability. Fix this problem and maybe we all can get along better. Sounds to me like non hispanics here in Dade County are forced to ride in the back of the bus in their own county because the political battles of elected officals in Miami Dade is conducted on hispanic TV and radio in spanish and not english and no one says anything even the Miami Herald. Why would anyone seek a job that pays less than ten thousand dollars a year but costs almost a million dollars in political donations to get elected. Maybe its all the free Cuban coffee that makes them do it.

If we can walk, drive or take a bus anywhere to do everything else, what is the problem with going to vote in person?!?!?!

Change the law back to the way it was. Limite early voting to 5 days and the weekend prior to Tuesday election day to save tax dollars.

Absentee ballots should be limited to persons who are disabled, very old, very sick, out of the country or in the military.

Other solutiion: Bus the citizens into the polls who cannot drive there themselves.

Our democracy is in serious trouble with this absentee voting. Officials are being elected illegaly and the ballot box is being stuff. Its important that our senior citizens in residential facilities vote. However, the people that prey on them for their vote are corrupt. Therefore, mobile balloting with volunteers and supervision need to go to the facilities and do the ballots for our most vunerable citizens. We cannot allow this fraud under absentee balloting to continue.

Some of these facilities allow some people to enter their facilities to campaign and others a no no. Usually pastelitoes, cookies, coffee, and other favors are brought in to the assisted living homes. This will create an automatic and unfair advantage for any person running for public office that is not allowed in the group home.Lets level the playing field and protect our voting rights and our democracy.
