Why People in the Community are Voting for Carlos Gimenez for Miami Dade County Mayor. By Geniusofdespair

I asked around for the short answer to the question: "Why are you voting for Carlos Gimenez for Mayor?" Here are a few of the answers:

Carlos Gimenez's incisive work to hold the Marlins to account, and convince the members of the county commission to reject the unconscionable Stadium funding deal, earned him my vote for county mayor. - Frank Del Vecchio, Miami Beach Activist

Carlos Gimenez is smart, professional, and of unquestioned integrity. He listens and is thoughtful. - Paul Schwiep, Attorney on Numerous Environmental Cases

Carlos Gimenez is extremely ethical in all of his dealings as a Miami Dade Commissioner and as a City of Miami manager. - State Senator Gwen Margolis

I support Carlos Gimenez because I have worked with him and know him to be honest, intelligent and dedicated to making South Florida a better place to live for everyone. - Arva Moore Parks, Historian

I support Carlos Gimenez for Mayor because he is the right candidate at the right time during the current tumultuous economic challenges faced by the residents and businesses of the County. He has the experience necessary to meld the day to day operations of running a local government along with the proven leadership of righting a financially sinking ship in the City of Miami and will bring this expertise and leadership with him to the office of Mayor for Miami-Dade County.
- Frank Rollason, Former Assistant Manager of the City of Miami

I support Commissioner Gimenez for his general excellent approach to county government. Also, I support him for his opposition to letting cities opt out of the county sign ordinance which would give Miami unfettered sway to permit billboards and his opposition to moving the Urban Development Boundary. - Barbara Bisno, City of Miami Activist

I am so proud of my father, what he has accomplished, and how he has done it. He truly loves Miami, and has fought against the status quo since day one. He is not a flashy guy, he just does his job, and does it well. No empty promises, no games, just results. If honored to be elected the next County Mayor, I know he will make us all proud of our government and community. - Lourdes Gimenez

Carlos Gimenez has demonstrated integrity, honesty and commitment to public service for the past 30 years. He began as a fire fighter, rose through the ranks to be Fire Chief and City Manager. He was my county commissioner, had a great voting record on critical votes, including voting against the Marlins stadium, against tax hikes that allowed the bloated government structure to continue. He pushed for charter reforms and understands the county and all it's corrupt influences and can attack them from day one. - Cindy Lerner, Mayor of Pinecrest

Excellent Approach to county government/What he has accomplished.....

Does Former District 7 Commissioner remember:

Results/Reaction Excellent Approach -High Pines little girl got Run Over by A SUV in her front Yard, Reaction / Not Proaction for small neighborhoods and Cut Through Traffic...

Where are the results for Public, Charter, and Private School Traffic in District 7 Neighborhoods?

Where are the results for the Community Pool that Residents in his District 7 have been asking for FOR OVER FIFTY YEARS....

Where are the results over at South Miami Park formerly the South West YMCA????? GOB Monies over $1 Million used. Miami Herald calls it a 10 Acre "Empty Basin"

Marlins still got their Deal. GOB Monies $50K
When the Former Commissioner's Vote does not matter, it is always wise to vote Nay because it makes good press/Politricks... Knowing full well You Nay Vote will not affect the majority/outcome.....
We need someone who is not from the "Status Quo"

Especially when Senior High Students from your District 7 are asking/Pleading for at least one Sweep with a Drug Dog in their Public school....

Actuality is not Not Your Reality....

Add to that: Alex Diaz de la Portilla is doing his political campaign. That tells me all I need to know about this man. Sorry, Genius.

gotta agree with anonymous..Diaz de la Portilla's involvement says a lot..

He is getting a pass so far this race..don't know if it will come out later but not everything is as rosy as it seems with this candidate.

Lesser of two evils... And I already addressed this in an earlier post---Carlos is independent.

To anon above, red light cameras are popping up all over Hialeah. This ended up being a topic that was not an issue in this election. We have to address it at a later time.

I am voting for Carlos Gimenez because he is the most prepared of the candidates to tackle Miami-Dade county right now. It is for 18 months and then we can decide again. But right now Gimenez is the only one carrying sufficient votes to oust Hialeah mayor Julio Robaina.

Its going to be a runoff between Robaina and Gimenez. Let's hope the voters can focus by then.

Don't underestimate Uncle Luke. He is polling third.

Good to See Censorship of The Truth is alive and well on EOM
Don't expect this post to make it either.
Sad to say I will no longer look to your blog for anything resembling the truth.
