I am Voting for Carlos Gimenez TOMORROW For Miami Dade County Mayor and also My Pick for District 7. By Geniusofdespair

I have been getting many, many annoying emails telling me why my candidate choices are wrong. "Don't you know you #@?$, son of a bitch, that your candidate did this or did that?"

I know that Carlos Gimenez has done things I don't like and I know that County Commission District 7 Candidate Julio Robaina TGO also did some things I disliked. Julio voted to keep the plug on Terri Schiavo. What could could be dumber than that? Maybe Suarez supporting to give Dolphin Sun Life Stadium public dollars. Does Julio's stupid vote have any effect on us in Miami Dade county? No. Will Suarez's choice effect us: Damn right it will.
In an election you never get the PERFECT candidate. You try to get the best you can. I am not an idiot. I know what these candidates have done over the years. I have looked at what all the candidates in these races have done over the years. For example I have followed Gimenez since he was fire chief and Hialeah Julio since he became a councilman in Hialeah. I made the best choices weighing all the variables. You will notice I did not weigh-in in district 13 because I have not followed the candidates there. If you don't like my choices well who friggin' cares. But, I did give this a lot of thought and I think Carlos Gimenez is the best candidate for Mayor and I think South Miami Julio Robaina (TGO) is the best candidate for County Commission District 7.

Let me add one thing, the Suarez supporters are by far the most rude and nasty I have every encountered. I cannot believe the slurs left on this blog because I disagreed with them. I don't dislike Xavier Suarez so their anger is unjustified. I simply made a choice based on my history in Miami Dade County. Take what you like, you don't have to agree with me. One more thing. The PBA should be totally ashamed with the nastiness they have infused into the Mayoral election courtesy of campaign dork Keith Donner.

We have endorsed Carlos Gimenez for Miami Dade County Mayor at Eye on Miami.

We have endorsed Julio Robaina (TGO) for County Commission District 7.

Mario Diaz Balart endorsed Hialeah Julio. That makes me not want to vote for him.

Sure he's the best of a bad field, but that sure doesn't mean he's good! We spent millions thanks to the Tea Party supporting Bramen to recall a flawed but honest Mayor...for this!?!

From The Herald's political blog:

Carlos Gimenez flaunts GOP ties in non-partisan Miami-Dade mayoral race?
Miami-Dade mayoral candidate Carlos Gimenez wants to make sure Hispanic voters know he's conservative.

"Carlos Gimenez is what we need," says one of his political advertisements on Spanish-language radio. "Carlos Gimenez, man of principle, conservative and Republican." (Or "republican," his campaign says. Read on.)

Here's the wrinkle: The mayor's post is non-partisan.

It is generally well-known in Miami-Dade political circles which candidate is affiliated to which party. Former state Rep. Marcelo Llorente, for example, served as a Republican in the Florida Legislature. Hialeah Mayor Julio Robaina has long been involved in the local GOP and has ads touting endorsements from Republican heavyweights such as former Gov. Jeb Bush and former U.S. Rep. Lincoln Diaz-Balart.

Gimenez, a former county commissioner, is also a Republican but has never run in a partisan seat.

The Florida Division of Elections has said in previous legal opinions unrelated to the current Miami-Dade race that candidates running for non-partisan municipal office should not include their party affiliation in political advertisements.

"[A]s a nonpartisan municipal candidate, you may not publicly represent or advertise yourself as a member of any political party," says a 2003 opinion. "Thus, information stating your political affiliation may not appear in your political advertising." (The same language is cited in a 2010 opinion.)

Gimenez's campaign, after reviewing the decisions, said Sunday the ad is not a reference to the GOP.

"Carlos Gimenez's use of the word 'republican' was a statement about his political philosophy, not his party affiliation," campaign spokeswoman Jude Faerron said in an e-mail.

Right, and I am not a Democrat. I just believe in democracy.

I so agree EOM, you picked the right candidates. I early-voted, and they have my vote.
Last I want to see is an Xavier re-do, or the turning of Miami into Hialeah.
Thanks for your insight.

TGO? The Gay One?

The Jebster called me today to support Julio (TBO). Yuck, I am no longer a fan at all for Jeb.

Voting Suarez tomorrow. This whole issue with Corona is being lead by Julio Robaina in an attempt to extend the election.......

Suarez is the only qualified candidate in this race

Jebster is supporting Hialeah Julio...not Julio (The Good One) running for District 7, previous anon. Unfortunately, it is very confusing.

TGO is THE GOOD ONE.

It's a sad day when Miami-Dade voters are left with the choice of the "bad guy" or the "bad guy." Neither candidate is worthy of a vote. I think I'll just vote for the better looking one. Or, the one who made less annoying recorded phone calls to me day and night. Umm.............bummer!

Wendy, vote for Gimenez. He is the better choice, don't be stupid and waste your vote.
