Did Any of You Get This Campaign Flyer in the Mail? By Geniusofdespair

What a coincidence. A reader said he received a similar ad (against Gimenez) put out by John's Rivera's PBA PAC - Dade County PBA Friends of Law Enforcement, here is their report. On 2/22/2011 this same PBA group spent almost $3,000 on T-Shirts and Yard Signs for Natacha Seijas -- AGAINST the recall.

Let's face it, Hialeah is filled with people who work hard for their money with a median household income of about $29,000 in 1999. Yet they pay their Mayor Julio Robaina $261,010 scads more than other City Mayors get (for example, North Miami Beach's Mayor gets $31,200). Mayor Regalado (not a rich man), Mayor of the LARGEST City in Miami Dade County, rejected a $53,000 salary increase for the mayor. Obviously Regaldo is not a greedy man. In contrast, in spite of the high salary, Robaina STILL finds it necessary to have outside employment as a developer and he still operates a shadow bank -- giving loans at exorbitant rates of interest (for which he is under investigation). All of this is going on, even though Hialeah Julio Robaina is worth $8 Million Dollars. Sounds greedy doesn't it?

I think the words humble and Hialeah Julio Robaina were never used in the same sentence.
He has not been very flexible as Hialeah's strong mayor, having stabbed many of his political opponents in the back.
The best thing about his race for County Mayor is that now, perhaps the poor saps serving on the Hialeah Council will assert themselves and show some initiative and leadership.

I got one exactly like this one, but attacking Gimenez.

Really? Just like this one. What a coincidence. Yours was from the PBA - same people who stood behind Natacha Seijas till the bitter end. One might wonder why the PBA is attacking Gimenez with attack upon a attack. Maybe they are not fond of HIS TOUGH STANCE TOWARDS UNIONS. Anyway, this one is more accurate don't you think? This is guy under investigation, he has the MOST skeletons in his closet.

Robaina seems like a sleazy criminal. Is everything with him about making money for himself?

Those accusing Brito of being on BAD Julio's campaign report, I looked at it and don't see it... please send me the link on WHERE you are seeing this.

I don't think it's fair to say that because of Gimenez's stance on unions, that all unions do not support him. I know that the firefighters have endorsed Gimenez.

Gimenez's stance on the contracts wasn't that he was opposed to fair conditions for the workforce. It was that granting salary increases amidst property tax and revenue shortfalls was an irresponsible act.

John Rivera, in my opinion, with little regard for the community who employs his workforce felt his officers were entitled to whatever Alvarez was gong to give them. That being a 13% pay raise effective 7/1 while all other groups received 3%.

Will do. But don't delete my post. Just trying to state the facts. No punt intended.

Are we talking "increases" or "increasements"? Sorry, couldn't resist.

Vote NO for Mayor Robaina. He is not a man of his word. His record in Hialeah speaks for itself. He is wasting tax dollars everyday. He is not accountable to the taxpayers of Hialeah. His actions speak louder than his words.
