Running for County Commission District 7: The GOOD Julio Robaina. By Geniusofdespair

Former State Representative/Former South Miami Mayor Julio Robaina is registered to run for the District 7 County Commission seat. Don't confuse him with Julio Robaina from Hialeah who is running for Miami Dade County Mayor. Also running for District 7 is Xavier Suarez - former City of Miami Mayor. I heard a rumor that Armando Gutierrez's wife Maritza is thinking of throwing her hat in the ring. Let's hope not.

Now we have 13 candidates running for mayor (with maybe Roosevelt Bradley joining the pack). Former Miami Dade County Commissioner Jose Pepe Cancio (appointed to fill vacancy of Miriam Alonso) has joined in as well as Darrin McGillis and Farid A. Khavari (these last two also ran for Governor).

Mr. Julio Robaina (the good one - not the one from Hialeah) is the only politician in Miami or probably in the United States of America that gives his personal phone number on the air on every radio station. He is the best choice for Commissioner of District 7.

Isn't He the Florida State Rep that championed at a Commission Meeting for the City of South Miami to Purchase the Old SouthWest YMCA in District 7 back in 04/05??
According to the Herald "It’s supposed to be a 10-acre YMCA facility, complete with a community center, swimming pool and playing fields.
Instead, the city-owned property, at 4300 SW 58th Ave. in South Miami, is just an empty basin.

Julio Robaina; (The Good One)

He is very qualified for our commission Dist 7 slot A former State Dist Rep he knows and talks "for the people" as Comm. Soto says. He's been a backer fOR Incorporations of cities. (like Redland) As a Bell telephone AT&T technician he understnnds the common Joe in the workplace. He's the right voice on the dias for all of Dade County.

Julio (the Good One) Robaina is the real deal. I had the pleasure to meet him a few times, I think the last time was at Deering last year.

He has my support, or at least a small contribution to his campaign because I don't live in Dist. 7.

He'll be a good voice for the people at the Commission, as long as he doesn't listen to Martinez or Diaz! Or, Edmunson & dingbat Bell!

I hope people don't get mixed up with the two Julio Robainas running. I guess they will. It will probably help Hialeah Julio to be mistaken for South Miami Julio.

He's got my Vote!!!!!

Julio Robaina, the former State Rep, is just another just like the current group. Maritza Gutierrez and him would be great partners in garbage. If we elect people like them, then nothing will change.

You can try to portray Julio in bad light as a few of of you are dying to do...but I would vote for him. I have known him for over 10 years and I always can talk to him even on issues we diagree on. He is a Moderate Republican. He would make a great County Commissioner.

Julio is fine but for real change, I'm putting my support behind Xavier Suarez. As a Miami native, I've been watching the political landscape for decades. And, in my view, former Mayor Suarez is ethical and smart and, very importantly, has the right priorities. There is much that needs to be done to support ordinary citizens in our county over the special interests, to ensure that runaway county spending (including pension costs)are brought under control, public safety and other critical services are maintained, and government functions more cost-effectively. Suarez understands that, and he has my vote.

Is that last person being sarcastic? That wacko Suarez? Ethical? He was removed from office for voter fraud.

Maybe he'll show up at my house tonight at 2 am. in his frickin bathrobe to discuss my negative post, like he did when he was at the City of Miami.

I for one would vote for Suarez if they let me out this mental facility before the election. I rarely get any sleep so I would enjoy the 2AM visits it would give me something to do other than chase flies in my underwear.

It's simple, we need to refer to him as Julio Robaina, TGO. This can simply be shorted to TGO on texts, short comments and limited edition t-shirts.

I like the guy...hope he wins.

I like your suggestion TGO...it has a good ring. Julio t go

Let's close down this circus!

Hees no "clow", my freng.

Seriously, the reason he is not in office now is that he bucked the status quo, working on initiatives that actually served his constituency. Condo and HOA reform is one of those things. He was a Godsend and we should have re-elected him.
