Natacha Seijas Does a Last Ditch of Her Office Budget. By Geniusofdespair

I originally said $490,000 dollars from Natacha Seijas's offfice budget is on the Agenda for the County Commission Meeting on March 15th (see graphic))...the same day as the recall election. the Herald tell me it it is really only $245,000 -- the amounts to be given are repeated twice, so take their word for it. Does that bankrupt District 13 for the Commissioner taking over? Are we going to have to come up with more tax dollars for this bloated office budget for District 13? I think these disbursements are unwise under the circumstances. I hope that no other Commissioner will approve them. It would be a slap in the face to the public.

Being cynical, is Seijas using the promise of the funds to entice people to vote for her? There are a lot of voters in all these programs she is dishing out money to. I think it is a last show of force, wielding her power to the bitter end.

Thank you reader for telling me about this agenda item.

Bell will support it

Girl Scout money? Sell some cookies!

I don't dispute that some of the causes she is giving to are worthy but that is not the roll of our tax dollars. We should be getting services. If a bus route is cancelled people can't get to work. A girl scout can raise money other ways. It is not the government's job to subsidize the girl's scouts but it is their job to provide adequate mass transit.

Government officials should not be giving funds--tax dollars-- to churches.

This post is a great example of why we need to recall Seijas. Worthy causes or not, that is NOT why we collect tax dollars. This is nothing more than payoffs to some at the expense of the whole. It is like bringing a snack to school. Don't bring unless you have enough to share with everyone. This is nothing more than an attempt to start a CBO funding food fight.

VNS - you - are - a - bitch. How will you be if you prevail? I shudder to think.

So long as tax dollars don't support the religious part of the program it is permitted under the law.

Not over till it's over BUT if Seijas is recalled:

1) I will be the first to sing "(ding dong) the witch is dead" a la Wizard of Oz

2) The Government Center building will probably temporarily increase in volume as all the occupants will simultaneously heave a huge sigh of relief

3) Maybe then the utterly useless International Trade Consortium (or whatever they are called, now joined with the Chief Economist to try to give it legitimacy) can be eliminated including Seijas's buddy who is the director. Perhaps other friends and family will also be given the boot: Balbin, Milian, Fuente, - she's got them planted all over the different departments.

4) Let's party!

None of this would be happening to poor Commissioner Seijas if she would have hired qualified legal counsel. He who lies down with dogs, will rise with fleas

Anon above: Kendall Coffey is to blame for the recall?
