Miami-Dade District 8 Election, Eugene Flinn Endorements...By Geniusofdespair

Former candidates for District 8, Annette Taddeo (above at a Flinn fundraiser), Pam Gray, and Jason Culler are endorsing Mayor Eugene Flinn. Also the two environmental groups mentioned Thursday, Clean Water Action and Sierra Club are in support. He has the 3 mayors: Paul Vrooman, Philip Stoddard and Cindy Lerner who have signed on. Three of the good County Commissioners (hold the UDB line) Sally Heyman, Carlos Gimenez and Dennis Moss also support Flinn. He has the Miami Herald, the Community Newspaper and Eye on Miami in his corner. He also has Katy Sorenson's endorsement. Lynda Bell, his opponent, I would suppose has the support of Christian Family Coalition. Not sure of who else is in her corner as it was not on her website.

Don't forget the police, firefighters, and teachers.

And Commissioner Gimenez supports him too. He was at the same event as Taddeo.

Looks like Gene is drawing support from conservatives, liberals, farmers, environmentalists, and as the earlier commenter noted, teachers, cops, firefighters, nurses, and just about anyone else with a brain.

Now they have to go and vote.

9 more days of early voting left.

Last comment - I mentioned Gimenez in my post, you sound like a campaign worker who skimmed over what I wrote.

Union endorsements are not good they mean the commissioner will be more inclined to approve lucrative contracts.

Annette would have been the best dressed on the dais. She has style, Flinn on the other hand, needs work.

The unions in question are police, firefighters, teachers, people you trust, hardly seeking lucrative construction contracts.

I know what I am talking about. The lucrative contracts and pensions of the firefighters and police are draining our tax dollars. Construction unions have nothing to do with raising our taxes. What planet do you live on?

You're right. What we should do is go for the candidate NO ONE endorsed, even though we all know she went to the interviews and failed to get the same endorsements.

Neither of you is right. You look at the endorsements as a whole

Why did Katy Sorenson do this to us?

Let's recall Katy to the Commission! We need Katy back!

Did anyone see the Michael Putney show today! Bell and Flinn were asked questions and it was the closest thing to a debate that I have seen so far.
Mayor Flinn did an excellent job!
Bell, as usual, continued to interupt both Mr. Putney and Mayor Flinn throughout the program.
Loved her explanation about why she voted to raise taxes while she was Mayor. I hope there is a way to put a link up so that everyone can view this!!!!
She truly believes, I think, that if she says it is so, it is so.
Congratulations to Mayor Flinn, he disagreed with dignity and force.
I think we are in for a wild ride this week.

Flinn is a good guy and he gets my vote. Lynda sure is pretty, though. That worries me. Sometimes people will vote for a pretty women, just because they can. Gene, you need to step up your "A" game and get to the tailor. Just put yourself in his hands. Trust, man, trust!
