Should I "Get a Life?" By Geniusofdespair

Many of you suggest that I "get a life" and stop blogging. Truthfully, many times I contemplate not blogging because of the life I do have. For instance I have painting class and when I paint I am too tired to blog. I always hope that Gimleteye will take up the slack. We never talk to each other about blogging schedules - it just happens. This morning I looked on my IPhone and didn't see any posts, I had forgotten to refresh the page. I panicked: "What the hell am I going to write about?" So, I thought I would show you why I wasn't prepared. Nope, not an artist, just doing a little painting for fun. This one isn't finished but this blog was unnecessary as Gimleteye was writing while I was enjoying my life.

NO! I mean get a life... what does that mean? it should mean doing something meaningful, doing something to contribute to your community, making a difference.

Your blog is important.

Wow! You are doing super!

GoD, you certainly paint well enough to challenge any art teachers skills!

Can we expect a showing?

I am proud of you and your commitment to doing something good for yourself! :)

Do what you want to do - that's the most important. You would sorely be missed if you stopped blogging though - there is no other blog in Miami that does the excellent job you both do. Can't wait until one of you decides to tackle Mr Rick Scott and his run for Governor - seems he's serious about it.

Rick Scott scares the hell out of me. I can't believe he is running a commercial to the right of McCollum on immigration. How could anyone be to the right of McCollum? I have to vote in the Republican primary and it will be whomever I think will lose against Alex Sink.

One good thing about posting this photo -- I can see everything I have to fix. And, some of you will say 'the whole painting' but I beat you to it.

LOL... I am amazed by the painting... I would fix nothing.

What do you mean the painting needs fixing? You can sell it - and for a pretty penny too.

About Rick Scott. Listen, that guy will not be governor. All that we (and McCollum) have to do is keep pointing to the $$$Millions he and his company had to pay in fines for ripping off Medicare and Medicaid.

The same thing has to be done against Marco Rubio. Not the credit card fiasco - Other than being an embarrassment to him, the story doesn't have any legs.

No, I'm talking about the fact that he failed to disclose $24,000 to the IRS from his "conservative campaign committees" - you know, the ones that raised a combined total of over $600,000 to be spread to conservative candidates all around Florida but he and his family lived off on and only $4,000were used for its intended purpose.

That's the story that nobody talks about but has the potential of carrying off in handcuffs.

Can you paint the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners. I would love to see how your artistic interpretation would look like.

I am sure you could sell it at a premium.(Id' buy a copy of it)

yikes...I would rather eat..let's not go there.

I like the ship. Tell us about it. In your mind is it real or symbolic? Do and enjoy the things you love and like to do. And most of all have fun!

It's been my experience that the only ones asking us to stop blogging are the ones with things to hide.

Keep blogging, and we'll keep reading!

We love you; you have a marvel-
ous talent & your blog reporting of Dade & State politics and all the things that aren't good keep us informed better than the Miami Herald. Your artistic talent (Painting)I'm sure go hand in hand with the indepth detailing of county records, campaign contributions & mundane happenings.

Long live your dedication

I sometimes hear the "Get a life" complaints from people when I keep asking them questions that go against their grain.

Truth be told...LOST took a good chunk of my time.

So now what?

Thanks all of you for not trashing my artwork. That means a lot to a hobbyist.

If all those who criticize you by telling you to "get a life" would do just a fraction of the public service that you provide, the world would be a far better place.
Don't let 'em get you down.
Your painting is marvelous BTW.
