Pepe Diaz Pulled His Stupid Trust Fund Idea Off the Agenda. By Geniusofdespair

County Commissioner Pepe Diaz pulled his Trust Fund idea off the agenda (I wrote about it February 8th and February 9th.) It had been scheduled for Tuesday's Committee meeting. I hope that idea is dead but Pepe said through a spokesperson, according to Miami Today:

"He plans to work on the concept and bring a new-and-improved proposal back later."

Let's hope not.

I don't like the Trust Fund idea. Why not look into a new-and-improved proposal? The man has always been there for his constituents and district. Say what you will but we are better off having Pepe 4 more years.

What a tit-for-tat scheme this thing is. You (a corporation) donate money to an organization I (as a commissioner) am sweet on, and I give you a tax break on that donation. The organizations you (the corporation) donated to love you, but they love me (the commissioner) more, because I make sure they know that I steered the donation their way.

They (the organization) express their increased love for me (the commissioner) in the only way that matters by ensuring they (if they're legally able) donate to my reelection campaign; and if they can't, they "encourage" their individual members to do so. I continue to get reelected.

Win-win for everyone but the "every man" constituents of the commissioner.

Like every expert sleeze, Pepe knows the temperature of the water is not exactly favorable, at the moment. The Jackson controversy is heating up the environment and some of his closest friends might be involved in it, so he's playing it smart. Better not to come up wih another money-making scheme and start stirring the you "know what"! Maybe he's realized that there's a reward in patience?

I'm sure the first "anon" was one of the three actual constituents to write a check to his campaign.

The other 99.9% of the out of town, out of district, deep pocket corporate donors just think he's the cat's meow because he's "been there" for his constituents I'm sure.

I am certain the first "anon" is one of his fishing buddies. Don't forget that he likes to go fishing to Cancun... travels by private jet, too. And they finance his campaigns, as well. Isn't that the life?

No, the first anon is one of his aides. So obvious.
