Believe it or Not? I Totally Agree with Cal Thomas today. By Geniusofdespair

Syndicated Conservative Columnist Cal Thomas said today in the Miami Herald:
Suggesting that a member of the military (Snyder) died because God is judging America for the way it treats homosexuals is worse than outrageous. It is the moral equivalent of crying "fire" in a crowded theater when there is no fire, which by the way is not protected speech. The Supreme Court was right to take this case. It should rule in favor of the Snyder family and put a stop to Fred Phelps (Westboro Baptist Church) and his spiritually corrupt family. They are by no decent standard serving God. In fact, quite a good case could be made that they are in service to God's adversary.

Based on the way you block and delete comments that challenge your opinions (especially on Fairchild Garden personnel matters), I am not at all surprised that you are aligned with Cal Thomas' anti-free speech position.

If the Westboro Baptist Church loses its free speech rights, how much longer will it be before the rest of us lose our free speech rights? The right to unpopular speech needs to be vigorously defended for our nation to remain free.

First I don't write about Fairchild. Different columnist buddy. Second, it is a funeral we are talking about. I can take the knock if you disagree with me. I just believe there is a time and a place- let the ACLU fight it I think the cameras all over the place is a much worse issue.

In thinking about this...
Maybe registering as a republican to vote for Crist is not as harmless as you thought.

You might be right about the Pub thing...but a funeral? What would Emily Post say?

Cal Thomas sticking up for Homosexuals? Now there is a first. Oops, just saw that.

Funeral (and protests at them) have provided the inspiration for many political movements. Banning free speech at funerals would seriously erode our first amendment rights.
