Gonzalo Sanabria's All-in-the-Family Endorsement. By Geniusofdespair

(Hit on images to enlarge them, and note the "delete box" is NOT checked in first image.)

Homeowners Associations rarely, if ever, endorse candidates. I was on 2 HOA's Boards and we encouraged residents to go out and vote, but we were told by our lawyers NOT to tell them who to vote for, it just wasn't a prudent thing to do. Not so in Coral Gables, the Gables by the Sea Homeowners Association not only endorsed, according to State records, the candidate was a member of the board that endorsed him until recently!

Actually, I was pretty surprised to see that a non-profit HOA had endorsed Gonzalo Sanabria, for obvious reasons - he is not the best candidate for the Coral Gables Commission for starters. Then I saw his wife Nancy was listed on their letterhead as a Board Member, that surprised me as they said the Board voted for him unanimously. Actually, Gonzalo Sanabria himself, was listed as a Board Member on their most recent Corporate Annual Report, filed in April 2008. Did he make a quick retreat after his 4 year stint on the Board, trading places with his wife to garner that HOA endorsement?

With his wife endorsing him, and his recent retreat from the Board, jokingly I will call this one: The Sanabria induced endorsement!

So that's a violation of election law?

Did it mention election law in the article? There is no mention of election law in the article...so why are you mentioning election law in your comment? If there was a violation of election law, it would have been mentioned.

Why isn't this a post? Talk about the wasting of taxpayer money!

Why isn't that a post? That the City Manager got what his contract required, a windfall. I don't know. Maybe because we weren't talking about that in this post we were talking about endorsements. I am perplexed at why, every time I bring up Sanabria, someone tries to throw a barb at Anderson instead of addressing what I ACTUALLY wrote about. It appears the Sanabria campaign monitors this blog. I am thrilled. Maybe you can tell him that all the years of the shitty votes he cast on the planning board, should have been in behalf of our communities. Those votes are going to haunt him through this campaign. In my opinion, Gonzalo Sanabria was the worst member of the planning advisory board ever, voting hundreds of time to satisfy the wants of his developer buddies. Never did I guess wrong on Gonzalo Sanabria's vote. It was always pro development at any cost, fueling the fire of developers gone wild in Miami Dade County for years. He was a proponent of sprawl, as fellow board member Rod Jude said:
"Clearly I don't think his votes were ever reflective of smart growth principles. He voted in favor of every sprawl development that came before us."

Who are you geniusofdespair? Are you by chance Maria Anderson's husband? Why do you hide behind that fake name "geniusofdespair"? Why don't you post all blog comments both the good and bad?

Again, back to Maria Anderson did I not say this post is about Gonzalo? Deflect, deflect deflect.

Yes I am Maria's husband, whomever he is. Does that make you happy? Did he watch you on the PAB for years and years and years like I have? Who cares who I am, apparently only you.

My history with Sanabria is at the planning advisory board. I don't know what is going on in Coral Gables at the moment. All I know is, I would hate to see Gonzalo get in based on his history during his long tenure on the PAB.

It would help if we knew your history on the planning board, you have provided us with Sanabria's so why not provide us with yours so we can make our own judgment of veracity and worthiness more accurately., thank you.
