This is why I keep saying the shit is going to hit the fan. Our Miami Dade population has stagnated. The stark reality is: we can't survive in a economy based on growth with no growth.
Amid the doom and gloom reports, Commissioners continue spending like there is no tomorrow on piddling shit, like cattle shows, baseball stadiums, handouts within their districts to garner votes and raises to staff (see yesterday's post).
The majority of us County residents will suffer from what will result when reality sets in, budget cuts to the important stuff like transit. Oh, wait that has already happened. They are trying to rob our sales tax money earmarked for mass transit to pay for day-to-day operations. Worse, maybe without growth the County will go bankrupt when bonds become due.
