A press release went out saying that on May 11th:
Unions of the South Florida Labor Movement will officially endorse Miami Dade County Commissioner (District11) Joe Martinez for re-election. All leaders are invited to attend the press conference.
That means union members will be at the polls to support this little bully Joe, with the Napoleon complex. Do they get paid to take the day off to give out flyers and hold signs?
What went wrong with unions? I was a teamster in the 70’s. Why are union leaders polarizing their outside supporters by sucking up to really bad County Commissioners, like Martinez and the ever vile Seijas. I guess we know why: They throw unions crumbs.
Union members, you are not helping our government or our community by supporting crappy candidates like Martinez. You must start looking more broadly at community issues, as you are alienating the very people that support unions. And, union members, you should make union leaders look at the Joe Martinez “I am not a crook speech” (DeFede video link on right of this page).

The unions are so misguided. They should just withhold endorsement, if the best they can do is stand behind the permanent incumbency. What do they have to lose, that they haven't mostly lost already? Or is this more about the leadership of the unions, themselves?
Let's hope the union members are smarter than their leaders and vote their consciences
Why wouldn't unions support little Joe and vile? They are bullies too. Birds of a feather ...
I wish the union membership would see the light but too many are hanging their job hopes on the unions.
Can someone...anyone get Martinez out????
Yes good question. How many signatures would it take to get him out of office???
Anyone know this?

WHILLY BERMUDEZ IS "THE DUKE OF WELLINGTON" AT THE BATTLE OF WATERLOO! DONT GET TOO COMFORTABLE MARTINEZ. YOU ARE NOT A COMMISSIONER BUT AN 'INDEPENDANT CONTRACTOR' THAT IS ONLY OUT TO SECURE HIS OWN INTERESTS.
Whilly? He had better hire a campaign consultant to massage his message.
how many signatures...that would just get the recall on the ballot: I believe it is 10% of registered voters...that puts the recall on the ballot. then you need an election. since he is up for reelection --get someone GOOD to run against him. It is a lot cheaper and easier that way.
For a recall I believe its 5% of the reg voters.
