I was on a Black Republican blog today (yes believe it or not, there is one) and they posed what is on my mind today:
“When Obama’s record and views are separated from the mythmaking and rock-star rapture he’s wrapped in, the problem of his electability looms large.”
I am worried, really worried for the Dumb-o-crats. As, I said, I am taking bets on McCain now. I think democrats are locked into the George McGovern gamble all over again. The “young people” vote couldn't be counted on then, and it won’t fly this time around either. They make a lot of noise but they don’t reliably go to the polls. There are just too many social obligations that come first in the young voter.
The Pubs have a marriage amendment here in Florida that will guarantee the conservative right will get to the polls in large numbers. I am also worried that Obama’s wife might crash the campaign — she is too militant to be accepted as a demure first lady (what people want) and she has already made a few major blunders while speaking.
I want anybody that will appoint the right Supreme Court Justices. We have an old geezer (John Paul Stevens is 88) who has been waiting 8 years to retire.

don't write off Hillary yet...
If Hillary wins, McCain is a definite shoe-in. She looses because lots of Democrats aren't buying the product she selling, no matter how it is packaged. Obama can win because he can unite the party, pull in republicans, and independents. He brings a new generation of Democrats with him.
And he will have plenty of money to wage the war. Millions of those little $25 people have signed up for multiple direct deposits from their banks. Then the old money from Columbia and Harvard will chip in. Then the regular big contributors will come in (they have to give to both sides so they can have access to whomever wins). He looks like a winner to me.
His wife is a real winner too. With degrees from Princeton (cum laude) and Harvard Law, she really complements him quite well. Then there are rumors that she is pregnant. Imagine, a baby in the Whitehouse!
Now think about the images... a 71 year old candidate stuck on the past and all of the legions of mistakes associated with it vs a 45 year old candidate who brings top flight skills, great judgement and hope for a better future.
Everyone underestimated him and his troups. By example, he is writing a seminal textbook on conducting national elections. He is bringing in a new era, the Obama era, to American politics. It is exciting, and lots of us long for an inspirational leader again in our lifetime.
You work for the campaign looking for blogs making negative remarks I presume...thanks anyway!

No. No association with the campaign. It's just the reality that I see. Don't know him or anyone involved in his campaign. But I am honored that you think so!
So Obama's wife might still be cranking out babies in her mid 40's?

Remeber folks...this country is not quite as "progressive" as the media would lead us to believe.
I think Senator Obama should be very careful not to have "Dukakis moment". If you don't think that can happen, just ask Howard Dean.

I hear you loud and clear. But something interesting has happened in America in the last 20 years. We grew up and have known lots of different kinds people. We have competed with them in the classroom and on jobs. . . and there are exceptional people out there. They could lead me any day. Maybe there really are some things that transcend our birth circumstances. We will see . . .
What an optimist...where did you come from? Do you do therapy?
next first lady... what blunders? Like last week when Faux news did a job on her audio and ran with it, taking the qualifier "really" out of quote"....really proud of my country..." that was yellow journal, a matter for the fcc. After millions of tv viewes hear that, no retraction will mend truth, the damage is done.

Obama cannot win. His politics are far left, even if the rhetoric is inspiring. And I am still thinking "where's the beef?" after his speeches. McCain has always attracted a majority of independents to his side, and I expect that to continue. The candidate who captures the center wins, and that is McCain, not Obama.
You are probably right. . . four more years of death and dispair. The fix maybe in already. Lets see exactly how the cheating occurs this time.
Thru the voting process in the remaining states, thru the bought and paid for super delegates, thru changing the rules in the middle of the game, thru going back to Florida where there is institutionized cheating through vitural voting,or some other mechanism which achieves the goal.
