This article by Oscar Pedro Muisibay speaks for itself: A Stink Surrounds It. I don't have much to add except: I am glad they are FINALLY cleaning the ammonia plume under the property. How they ever were allowed to build there not having cleaned the site first is a mystery to me. One other thing about the STINK: I don’t think the smell is from the mangroves. There is a water treatment plant just North of the site. When the wind blows South I am sure the smell from that plant is awful. You can smell it on Biscayne Blvd.

The stink is mostly coming off the treatment plant to the north of BL. I remember mention of having the County "filter" the smell same as they did over at the Plant near Fisher Island. FI sued the County over the smell and the result was County agreed to address the noxious odor. What's good enough for the Billionaires should be good enough for the Millionaires. So I guess someone at NM City Hall should look into this ASAP!
Do you mean the stink is from the treatment plant that was airbrushed out of Biscayne Landing's sales advertisements? A condo purchaser may be excused for never knowing it was there, that is until they first looked out their window or off their balcony to the north.
Re: the treatment plant at Va. Key, the air is not "filtered." Rather, the site is surrounded by hoses that spray deodorizer into the air 24/7.
they paid $8,000,000 for the system at vk and now they don't even use the drying beds there anymore.
Ahhh... this is great they trash the enviromental way of doing things that they already paid for so that they can run an pump to spray perfume day and night to foster development. What poor planning, this area being that it surrounds FIU North should have been affordable student housing not unafforable full-time housing. Education, always a priority in FL!
