Nancy Liebman will be resigning from the Presidency of the Urban Environment League by Genius of Despair.

The Urban Environment League was one of the leaders on the Hold the Line Campaign, they held several candidates' forums this summer and they hosted a strong mayor debate. The group is known for advocating smart growth principles.

I guess it is on to bigger and better things for Nancy. She will be missed. Nancy is a hoot to be around, she is also one strong lady who would always get things done. I admire her and count her as a friend. She is pictured above during her first trip to the Everglades. It only took her 45 years of living in Miami to get there.

Where is she going?

And how did she never get to the Everglades?
I spend a lot of time there and meet people from all over the world who understand how special it is.

She is going to concentrate on other historical groups she is involved in. She is an urban woman. She does urban things: Concerts, Plays, etc. However, she enjoyed her trip to the Everglades and couldn't believe she has passed it up for so long. Do you have any idea how many staff members of the County Commission have never been to the Everglades? It is alarming.

Nancy Liebman is a fantastic woman. She is a strong advocate who never backs down. She did a great job as a City of Miami Beach Commissioner and she mounted a very credible campaign for Mayor. Having taken over the Urban Envirnonment League from Greg Bush she brought new attention to UEL's causes. She was always a tireless advocate for green space and for additional park space. UEL, with Nancy's leadership did a fantastic job with the Hold the Line campaign. It is always benefical to protect park space.

I have had the pleasure to work with Nancy on several projects. She is a renaissance woman; so many varied interests. I truly appreciate the exposure she gave to our endangered agricultural area. Her tough but fair style has earned her many admirers. I will miss her as head of the UEL and hope she stays involved. Nancy will be hard to replace.
