The Most Interesting Candidate For U.S. Senate From Florida: Josh Larose. By Geniusofdespair

I wrote about Josh Larose in 20011 when he ran for Mayor of Miami Dade County. At that time he opened about 100 Political Action Committees in Miami Dade County which totally f--ked up the PAC/ECO page at elections making it difficult to search.

I called the phone number on his qualifying papers: They said it was a wrong number. It took them a while to decide (two men). I asked for Josh and they said yes. Then they asked me who I was, then they decided it was a wrong number. It was the right number when I read it back to them but then they said they just got the number yesterday. The address Josh gives is a post office box. I don't understand how he could register for anything since he has over $500,000 in fines levied against him. But, he is running for U.S. Senator according to the State of Florida website.

From Politico: ‘SUPER PAC MAN’ RETURNS:

A Florida man named Joshua (aka Josue) Larose registered three new super PACs purporting to represent big corporate interests.

Larose is also registered as a Democratic candidate for Senate.

Last cycle for serially registering PACs, flooding state and federal regulators and racking up more than 2,000 counts of violating election laws, with more than $2 million in potential fines. He didn’t respond to requests for comments.

The Palm Beach Post said:

Larose filed false campaign reports for more than 300 political committees he formed for non-existent associations of supermodels, billionaires, Catholics, boxers — and more.
Despite the penalty and being dubbed “the PAC Man” by media, Larose, remains a perennial Florida candidate. He’s back running as a Democrat for U.S. Senate

Wikipedia says:

Josue Larose is a political organizer from Deerfield Beach, Florida. He has formed over 41 political parties, at least 60 Super PACs, and at least 340 state political action committees.

He is actually searchable on the Federal Election Commission website

Three people "Like" his Facebook Page. Is it all a joke? No, it is just Florida, where wacky people flourish.

Well, I guess you know who I will be voting for U.S. Senator: Josh Larose - THE PAC MAN, possibly worse than Marco Rubio...most probably. I think yes, there is someone worse than Marco for the Senate.

To understand just how odd this is, before Mayoral Candidate Larose opened these 100 PAC's, there were only about 50 PAC's in Miami Dade County...for years!! He has to open a bank account for each from what I am told. I did a spot check - he opened them in January 2011. The phone number he gives in the paperwork rings but then disconnects. Bio:Often described as a ’serial candidate’ or ‘frequent filer’, Josue Larose qualified for the Congressional District 19 race as a write-in candidate. Larose ’s name will not appear, but the April 13 ballot will include a space for write-ins. Deerfield Beach resident Larose was also a write-in candidate in three special state legislative elections this year and has opened a 2010 campaign for governor. Haitian born and a self-described millionaire economist, music producer and lobbyist, the 28-year-old is waging three campaigns under the first names “Joshua” and “Josue” and has raised $100,000 in his bid for governor, according to the Florida Division of Elections. He has already had dramatic effect on one race. Josue Larose, a write-in candidate for Governor, has been a write-in candidate in at least 6 races including his candidacy in 2009 for Miami Mayor (his qualifying check bounced so he was booted from the Mayor's race - he called himself Joshua LaRose at that time). From an Our Campaigns website it said (I am not making this up): "He is a 25 years old rich man, born on June 12, 1981. Regarding his education level he is earning a Bachelor's Degree in Economics, then he is earning a Certificate in Real Estate, in Mortgage Brokerage and finally he has a MBA Degree."

Larose also has 34 political parties and many PAC's, trying to appeal to just about everyone. The financial reports list American Venture Capital Group as the only donor to these political parties. The political party I stumbled on in public records is called American Christians Political Party. It claims to have $1,200,000 in its coffers, according to Larose's financial report. I looked up the corporation and it is not registered in Florida. This is from his website:

"Economist Josue Larose is the President of the American National Chamber of Commerce and also the Chairman of many Federal PACs."

The address he lists...it appears you can also get credit counseling in suite 201. They take donations too, they are a charity. I know who I am not voting for Governor besides not voting for Rick Scott.

PAC MAN: Joshua Larose. By Geniusofdespair

I wrote about Joshua (aka Josue) Larose before on September 17th.  I have to say he has me pretty annoyed with his PAC's on the Miami Dade County Elections site.  Besides his 34 political parties (see September 17th post) he has 50 PAC's in Miami Dade County. Somehow Larose has been making quarterly reports for all 50 of them for 4 quarters now. They are all still open but none of them has any money in the reports.  He said in his filing papers that he has accounts at  Bank of America. I saw two branches mentioned at 701 Brickell and 1414 Alton Road.  So he has at least 2 accounts for all these PAC's. Can you have an account with "0" in it for over a year? If there is not "0" in it, then the amount in it has to be on at least one of the PAC's wouldn't you think? Do you need a separate account for each PAC? Someone should be checking up when a person starts 50 PAC with no money in any of them. I don't like it because it litters the PAC page with useless nonsense. Some would say he is making a mockery of Political Action Committee's (like that matters).

You might be happy to note Larose is no longer running for Miami Dade County Mayor.

According to the Bendixen poll paid for by the Miami Herald/El Nuevo Herald and TV Channel 4, Hialeah Mayor Julio Robaina is the top choice for Mayor garnering 28% (three times more than any other candidate). These are the same people polled who think that honest and ethical government, by 64%, is the most important quality they are seeking in a mayor. Don't the people know that 'Hialeah Mayor' and 'honest and ethical' are oxymorons?

Hialeah Julio is being investigated by the IRS, and he lost his real estate license for a time because he was found guilty of "...dishonest dealing by trick, scheme or device, culpable negligence or breach of trust in any business transaction."

No one in their right mind should be supporting Joshua Larose, shame on those who chose him in the poll. Voters have to start reading the newspaper and they have to stop judging candidates by who is "Cuban Enough" or we will never get good government. Local Politics: Miami-Dade. By Geniusofdespair

A reader asked: Why don't you write about local politics. One: None of you read the crap. Two: It is a losing battle. You keep electing shit politicians and thus, we are always writing about bad news because we can never get anywhere.

Here is a wrap up of local, lets see how many of you read it:

Francis Suarez - He will be Mayor of the City of Miami. There is no doubt about that. He is a very nice guy. I just hope he can be a leader for the people of the City. I like his mailers so far. I do not support his idea to have a strong mayor as Gimenez has made it obvious how toxic it can be. His friends continue to suck off the tit of County funds. I will vote for Francis.

Daniella Levine Cava - You might think the County Commissioner from District 8 is up for reelection this year by her aggressive campaigning. It won't be till next August. Daniella has already raised $301,309.54. All the even numbered County Commissioners will be up for reelection in August. These are non-partisan so November voting means little in these races.

In the 2018 race to replace Congresswoman Illenan Ros-Lehtinen, only Kristen Rosen Gonzalez is registered. I never heard of the other 3 candidates. I thought I would see Javier Jose Rodriguez and others but none have come out of the woodwork. In Congressman Carlos Curbelo's district 26, there are two democrats running against him: Steven Machat and Steve Smith. Never heard of either of them.

These are all the candidates registered for Governor in 2018 (you can't raise money till you register) but your PAC/ECO can be raising money hand over fist, so it is still early:

Josue Larose is a phantom candidate that registers for a lot of stuff. Out of this group I would vote for Gwen Graham.

In the last election the Republicans put a ringer Democrat into Florida Congressional District 38 to siphon off votes from Jason Pizzo in the primary. Don't be fooled again. Do not, under any circumstances, vote for the DINO Daphne Campbell in the primary. She is the worst Democrat I ever encountered. A totally awful woman, sleazy too. Tell all your friend in the North Beach Cities to vote for Pizzo.

Congressional District 115 has no incumbent. Jeffrey Solomon is there, again.

My Congressional District is 112. I will have to write myself in. I would not vote for the Democrat Nicholas Duran. I hope another Democrat enters the race. I would vote for the Republican Rosa Palomino if we had more Democrats in the House but because we are so over-loaded with Republicans in the State, I have to write myself in here. I would be a good candidate, better than Duran. But, I will not run.

Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez is Running for Miami Dade County Mayor. By Geniusofdespair

The field is getting crowded. Don't know much about this guy but he has to be better than Hialeah Julio Robaina.

Meanwhile photogenic, former State Representative Marcelo Llorente is raking in the dough. He has $301,504. In December he took money from the Wren Group, Carlos Salman Realty, Manuel Alfonso-Poch, Ramon Rasco and CCS Strategies among others. A Chris Korge in Gainesville gave him $25? What is that about? And, why is he giving himself a $7,500 loan when he has all that dough?

Manny Luis, the guy I found holding up a fish on facebook, has withdrawn from the race. So now we have Bermudez, Llorente, Darrin Ellis (not a serious candidate), County Commissioner Carlos Gimenez, Lazaro R. Gonzalez (led the first recall against Carlos Alvarez, doesn't speak English well, can't win and he hung up on me when I asked him to support charter change), Joshua Larose (the nutty guy with a penchant for Political Action Committees) and Hialeah Julio.
